It has nothing to do with ice time and everything to do with QUALITY LINEMATES. Bolland, in his first full season in the NHL, put up 47 points in 81 games playing with Havlat and Ladd. He hasn't played consistently with any winger even as good as Ladd since the SC season. He's been anchored with scrubs for two straight seasons now.

You put Bolland with two top six wingers, and he's a 20+ goal guy, and a 30-40 assist guy and I really have zero doubts in regards to that.

agreed, not to mention that he gets a lot of his ice time on the PK, is he expected to produce there more than he already is? Pretty sure he leads the NHL in SH Goals.

and you can use the Ladd-Bolland-Havlat line all you want, Bolland only had 47 points, he's garbage.

Ladd only had 49 points, he's god.

Also, the playoffs that year Bolland had 12 points in 17 games, Ladd had 4 points in 17 games.

I love Ladd as much as the next guy (more pending on who the next guy is) but let's be fucking real here.

I'd prefer to keep Bolland as our 3rd line shut down center. He does need to get his FO% up.

Could he play as the 2nd line center? Sure, but I would much rather him play on the 3rd line and kill penalties and get some PP time here and there.

Move Sharp to C and Toews at C if he ever comes back. You then have Kane, Hossa, and two other wingers to choose from (Stalberg, Shaw, Hayes Kruger or Brunette even though I don't like Bruno as an NHL player.

Also, why hasn't Pirri been called up to try and play as our 2nd line center?

The kid can obviously play, he has the size, and if he's getting 2nd line minutes he might as well get a shot at the big club unless there is some glaring weakness. This point you can put him at center with Kane, Hossa or Sharp and see what happens.

Wouldn't hurt anybody at this point.

he was phenomenal in that series. I was talking about last season when he played for San Jose

He started out slow with the new team but as they went on Niemi was lights out playing with the Sharks. earned his job back from Nitty.

Why? They are 5-1 with JT just around the corner. Aren't there enough rookies in the line up already?

Pirri sat behind us for a Hawks game awhile back, he's not a big guy.

As all the discussions have gone along about pressing various guys into duty as a center, one name I never thought of occurred to me. Why not Hossa?

In a center you want a good skater that plays responsible D, back-checks, good passer, is a hard guy to move from in front of the net and can score. For a team that may have some interchangable parts at wing that is desperate for a center Hossa seems to have a HUGE checkmark by all those traits. Not sure how his on draws, but if that's a huge problem we could have someone else take draws and have him play the POSITION of center after the draw.

I'm just saying if everyone claims we need a 2nd line C, why not let Pirri try it out? He looked well in the 5 games he played this season.

Just food for thought dick!
