But a big part of Sharp being successful that year at center, was the depth at wings. Hawks top 3 lines of wingers could or already to play on any teams top 6 forwards. The Cup year, Toews was the only top 2 center on the team. Sharp, Hossa, Kane, Byfuglien, Ladd, Versteeg..are all first line players. Hell, even Kopecky is top 6 minutes in FLA.

I don't think the Hawks will be able to get a center via FA...but they need one. I'd like to see Stastny or Weiss targeted with Bolland being the centerpiece going back.

you're awful quick to get rid of Bolland. If Q knew how to utilize him, he would be much better this season, but again, guy is a playoff performer.

until those pesky playoffs rolled around, then he looked like he did in the Philly series lol.

Well he won a Cup his first year and made the Conference finals his second year. Not too shabby.

and he had at least four 5 goal games lol.

His playoff performance last season was terrible, but it fits with being a Shark I suppose.

He was pretty good in the Sharks series, specially in San Jose.

Is it Q's fault he's under 50% again for face offs?

Bolland gets 'credit' for his playoff performance but Q gets blamed for his regular season inconsistencies?

I think he's a very good number 3 center...could fill in as a number 2 for injuries/short term....but I don't think he' a good or consistant enough point producer to be a number 1 center that could be a number 1 if/when needed. This team needs a second line center. I think Kruger or any of the younger guys mentioned (McNeil) could fill that third role...but the team needs a second line center for scoring. Moving Sharp or Kane there leaves holes at wing.

And has won 6 of 7 series in his first two seasons, LOL.

I think most goalies and their team would be OK with that.

other than Pittsburgh, find me a team that has two number one centers.

Bolland CAN be relied on as a number 2 center, but he isn't used in that role, instead Kruger has been I don't know why though.

I don't know too many 3rd line centers that have 17 goals so far this season. He has 14 assists, but anyone expecting him to produce without finishers on his wings is fooling themselves, put him with any combination of Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Stalberg for the majority of the year instead of Bickell, Shaw, Brunette, Frolik and you'd see him in Stastny/Weiss/Ribeiro range in regards to overall point total.

You don't have to look hard to see that Bolland has enough offensive ability to be a top 2 center.

He played with Ladd and Havlat...didn't crack 50pts

He's 5th on forwards for TOI...I think 2nd or 3rd in shifts per gm, plays PP, PK

Pitt, Van, SJ, BOS, LA, DET come to mind with 2 top centers ( and not surprisingly all the top teams , sans LA and SJ this year...who still may win their division)

Bolland as food as Statsny? Really? Talk about lost cause discussions

Ribiero has never been under 50 pts...topped 70 and 80 as well

Weiss has topped 20g 3 times on bad teams ..hit 60pts a couple of times

Those guys have been proven number 1 centers in the league, and produce no matter who they play with

That was his 2nd year in the league. Players develop, you refuse to acknowledge that. I don't care about his minutes if he's playing with bottom line players. Bolland has never had the opportunity to be a "proven" top line center so what are you arguing about?

Either way, he's be better than option than Kruger I would say.

How much more ice time does he need to be given the opportunity? When does his face off percentage hit 50? Which off season did he ever come in faster/stronger/improved from a strong off season workout?

I loved Burish as a Hawk but he just sucked at hockey. Carcillo actually has skill... he's just often suspended or in the box.

Like I said, I bet this injury opens his eyes and might have been the best thing for him.

Really? I think someone needs to open their eyes and its' not Carcillo

It has nothing to do with ice time and everything to do with QUALITY LINEMATES. Bolland, in his first full season in the NHL, put up 47 points in 81 games playing with Havlat and Ladd. He hasn't played consistently with any winger even as good as Ladd since the SC season. He's been anchored with scrubs for two straight seasons now.

You put Bolland with two top six wingers, and he's a 20+ goal guy, and a 30-40 assist guy and I really have zero doubts in regards to that.

So you're saying Carcillo doesn't have any skill?

Obviously people IN HOCKEY think differently seeing how Carcillo was drafted in the 3rd round and Burish in the 9th.
