No worries folks! Don't have to get yourselves worked up about goaltending changes after all per Chris Boden who apparently has an interview with Stan that'll air later today. . .

@CSNBoden Bowman also says "we're not focused on goaltending" before deadline & market remains quiet. More later on CSN & csnchicago.com#Blackhawks

And for those who wish that those of us calling for Q's head would STFU also no worries---the Stache is looking groovy. . .

@CSNBoden Just intvwd. #Blackhawks' Stan Bowman for tonite's "SportsNet Central" at 630 & tomorrow's pregame. Q is "absolutely" the guy moving fwd

The problem starts in our zone. Teams have figured out they can't handle aggresive forechecking. All too often they turn the puck over and it ends up in the net. Compounding that is our top six forwards always try to stick handle through 3-4 guys at the other blue line, cough it up, and off to the races the other team goes, with the puck ending up in the net. I don't know what the difference is between November and now. Roster is aboot the same. Maybe it's just Kharma. Seems like the team went tits up since Car-Bomb was a jackass against Edmonton in January.

You mean like the Blues figured out 2 years ago and now everyone copies? Yeah, I agree. We have a bunch of panty wastes on this team. Toews needs to knock out Jumbo the playoff choke artist in that game in San Hoser. It would have made a huge impact on the momentum. PS, Jonny, fighting is allowed in the NHL.

At the end of the day, Q coaches a lot like Scotty did back in the day. He just isn't very good with the off ice head games like Scotty was. He is a player's coach off the ice.

I think one of you fans that can make it to home games needs to hold up a sign making light of the "Q random line generator".

Yeah difference is, most players who played for Scotty admitted that he was a real sonofabitch to be coached by and they didn't particularly like it when they were going through practice every day and every game BUT he still got that all-important aspect of the game which is buy-in because ultimately they liked winning more than they hated being coached by Scotty. He was not a "player's coach"---he was a coach who wanted adherence and success and then when he wasn't coaching he was a devoted family guy and that's pretty much it.

What I don't see here and haven't seen going back much further than this season *for me* is buy-in.

Having zero credibility to back this up, at the end of the day no matter how much you buy into everything, when you lose this many in a row you have to kind of get tired mentally of all the line juggling. Whether you understand it or not there has to be a point as a player where you just think to yourself, jesus fucking christ enough already, I can't even remember who I'm supposed to be with from shift to shift.

Well there is no system to buy into so can you blame them? Sure, lots of talky-talk to the press from everyone on the roster and the coaching staff about what type of game they "play" but it doesn't translate for me so it's lipservice as far as I am concerned and thus ineffective coaching. Lots of line juggling as an answer to fucking EVERYTHING and much of it nonsensical as opposed to actual hockey adjustments and adherence to said adjustments. . .so line juggling is pretty much what my answer would have to be if some random person asked me what type of game or system do the Hawks play? Line juggling for the WIN!

You got that right! I am MEGA thankful for Lord Stanley's chalice---I luuuuurves hardware more than anything and gettin' some is a rare occurrence in Chicago sports period and so that much more precious. Thanks to the Hawks I get to be able to say that I got to see ALL my Chicago teams (heh) win their Championships before I die and all at ages where I was old enough to have followed the sports and fully appreciate them all. Bears, Bulls, Fire, Sox, Hawks---good times and even GREATER memories!

I watch Detroit, I see what they're doing. I watch Nashville, I see what they're doing. I watch St. Louis, again, I see what they're doing. Even bad teams I see what they're ATTEMPTING to do out on the ice, they just don't have the personnel to do it. For the life of me I cannot tell what the Hawks are trying to do out there. Sometimes they've got five guys back, sometimes they've got nobody back. Sometimes they've got three guys forechecking hard, sometimes they have nobody forechecking hard. Sometimes they keep two guys high, sometimes none. It's a fucking enigma wrapped in a mystery, boxed in a conundrum. Are Hawk practices still closed to the public?

Then you watch the special teams and PK, and it's obvious what they're doing, but it's so full of fail it doesn't matter. That triangle + 1 PK, holy ****. Then that PP, with the constant obsession with the backdoor play? Holy ****, again.

Line juggling is killing their individual mojo. End of story. Even if you know what the coach is trying to do with the white board x and o concepts, it does no good if you don't know who is on your wing from shift to shift.

You would have a point if McD had anything to do with selecting Cubs players or selecting the Hawks current core players. McD didn't draft Toews and Kane, he didn't trade an AHL 3rd liner for Sharp, he didn't have very much to do with getting Hossa (more S. Bowman[sup]2[/sup] than anything), he didn't draft Seabrook or Keith or Hammer...should I continue?

McD may have caused some problems with his over pimping of the kids to the general public, but that is about it.

(for the record, I despise McDumbshit. I don't want anyone getting confused by what I said above)

How could you, it changes every other shift. Sometimes every shift. Q must have a playbook that would rival an NFL team in size and variety.

Maybe the core is trying to get Q, Stan, and McD fired by tanking the year.
