im not even mad, i just think it sucks that he was given no shot at all. In the games he played, he had less ice time than John Scott. If the guy got even 5 games with decent ice time, I wouldn't even care. I just get mad when anybody gets written off without given a chance.

The Hawks are a great team... but 7 mil in cap space? Wow... the Hawks could become almost unbeatable. They could even go out and get two special teams specialists.

basically, yes.

And basically with Campbells contract, that's all you were going to get. Unfortunately that's the way it was going to be. You can only have so many 7 million $$ contracts on a team.

This doesn't bother me at all. Olezs has no spot on this team other than the 4th line. He's not a top 6 NHL forward and never will be. Given a chance or not.

And as of right now this could be Stans turning point, that is what we do with this giant amount of cap space.

Same view on Stalberg for me, if Olesz played every game he could with Hossa or Toews he'd have eerily similar numbers.....but Olesz at least hit.

I'd rather see them get/trade for a stay at home Dman (a la Sopel) to replace Scott. John's been okay the past couple games-- but I'd rather see some one else in that 5/6 spot.

I highly doubt that this team will spend 6m out of 7m to put themselves right back into salary cap hell (unless it's an expiring contract).

I'd rather have Soupy than Montador, O'Donnel, Scott.

2.75

.850

.512

4.112 million total.

Hawks are under 6.959 mil right now. Soupy is 7.140

You keep soupy, not sign the other slugs, have lepisto and dump Scott and you still have 3.931 million in cap space to tweak at the deadline on team that is already one of the tops in the league. I realism they wanted cap space, but home much do they serious need. Yes, Hindsight is 20/20, but I didn't understand at the time why they needed so much cap space, just to not use it. Seems they are in the same seat.

Keith

seabs

hammer

Leddy

campbell

lepisto

anyone else I'm forgetting. Young kids whatever.

Florida also shut out Dallas last night 6-0 (in Big D-- about 5000 people witnessed it).

Just playing Devil's advocate.

perhaps all the space was needed because Leddy and Kruger are RFA after next season, and there was no guarantee that if we kept Campbell, we would be able to move him later? I dunno. I miss him too though. there there

Olesz was given ample opportunity in Florida, where he sucked.

Coming to the Blackhawks was not going to change what is is: A bad contract for a (barely) 4th line player.

They needed money to re-sign Patrick Sharp.

Couldn't do it without the Campbell move.

I disagree, and Stalberg makes 800k. So your point is moot.

Florida couldn't get rid of him fast enough. 800k for marginal talent verses 3.2 mil for marginal talent. Yea.

come on man.

I still think Olesz is better. Better passer, Better shot. The salary arguement doesn't mean anything when we have 7 million in cap space.

I could compile quite the list of players who were given ample opportunity in Florida, sucked, left and had good careers. But what's the point?
