I can't believe anyone would complain about this. Scott, who we all love to ***** about and gets about 5 mins of ice time over the course of 6 games...and we care why!?!?!?

The Hawks are as soft as hell now. He was a nice insurance policy to have on the bench too along with being popular in the locker room. Stan really is a head scratcher

John Scott is a nice person. He'll be missed for that. But 'he was an insurance policy'? Really? Ask JT how his head feels right now. I'm pretty sure Jumbo didn't give a shit that we have a player named John Scott whom occasionally played for us when he was punching JT in the head with his boxing gloves on.

Here is all you need to care about this trade, Q now has one less dumbfuck option to use in his Q Random Line Generator.

As I said, We got Oduya and had too many bottom-pairing D-men. Monty, being disabled was immovable. There was no way Stan was going to declare he failed wih Lepisto and O'donnel. Scott only got 5 minutes of ice time.

Sucks to see him go and I wish he could have gotten a better shot (IMHO he could have taken O'donnel's ice time and ran with it doing at least the same job he did), but in all reality, it was either him or Bickell leaving.

We still have Bickell for team toughness. Shit....where is the purple? Scott did what he could when he was on the ice. No one else on this team will do it. I guess we are putting a lot of faith in Mayers, and that is the scary part.

Once the Hawks got Oduya, they had to move a player off the roster.

What about O-do-you-wanna-go? He's pretty tough.

I guess we will see. But we had many other turds floating in the pool that could have gone first and not affected the product on the ice!

He's also barely 6-0, not even 200 pounds soaking wet, sooo sure. He can take care of the pesky Colin Frasers of the NHL.

we arent going to hear the end of this one.

Im a little disappointed myself. dont understand the reasoning here to be honest. Did the hawks have to deal a contract?

5th round pick for John Scott? That's a steal!!

Yeah, I'm dissapointed to see him go, but the guy plays 3 minutes a night. There is nobody in our conference for him to do battle with. We are better off with Mayers being our "enforcer" because guys are more inclined to fight him then Scott.

Our team toughness has been gone since Burish, Fraser, Eager, Ladd, Buff all left.

My guess is we had to deal someone and no one wanted what we were willing to offer. In all honesty, who wants some of the guys we have? Scott serves a purpose and he is cheap. Problem I see is that the guys Bowman felt would help this team are not doing it. And with some of the contracts they have, he can't get rid of them. I am not sure he has a clue as to what he is doing. Man, I miss Dale more every day.

Yeah. IMHO, from internal politics, The only two players who would be traded would have to be Bickell or Scott. If any other player like Frolik, Morrisson, Lepisto, or O'donnel were sent away, it would be Stan admitting that he failed at judging talent.

And really, does any manager in ANY business ever own up to a mistake bringing on deadwood? Or, do they maginalize them in an attempt to get them to quit in Office Space style?

Either way, I would rather have Oduya over who we have left. Hopefully this will someone tighten up the back end a bit.

As some of us figured Bowman's moves were underwhelming. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that the asking prices were probably too high.

But the suckiness will continue.

It's not like there are ten fights a night in the NHL right now. It's about hitting hard and then pushing or hugging a guy until the zebras break up the party.

Scott being a liked player in the dressing room could show that Bowman does not know the teams pulse and chemistry and could be a reason why they have been so bad. He doesn't know how to bring in the right characters.

I have felt (and stated so publicly) this for some time. It was a concern that now appears to be becoming reality.
