Scott sat yesterday and the Ducks ploughed our smaller players - Leddy (Getzlaff) and Krueger (Beauchamin twice) - into the boards & ice with impunity and nary a response to their action (save Emery v. Hagman). Look for more of the same here on out.

Maybe those 'little guys' need to buy some balls and hit/fight back. Theo Fleury was small but he was a fucking wolverine (granted he had a lot of anger issues and substance abuse). Car bomb and Burish are not big guys.

Point is, being small means shit if you play big.

Regardless, other teams protect their smaller players. Shit we had to play Mayers with Toews & Kane to protect them last time we played the Sharks. We are even weaker, now.

Our big guys don't even play tough, yet you want our small guys to step it up? Look at Fluery's and Carcillo's faces. They appear to have lost a lot more fights than they have won. And Burish is a great hugger. He is not a good fighter. Lets face it, we just got softer. I don't think anyone can argue that. The big problem is we were soft to begin with. You can't have O'Donnell fight. If he falls, he could break a hip!

Scott being a liked player in the dressing room could show that Bowman does not know the teams pulse and chemistry and could be a reason why they have been so bad. He doesn't know how to bring in the right characters.

Like dealing for Brendan Morrison?

It's not that Stan needed to save face (though he wanted to). Rather, nobody wanted Morrison, O'Donnell, Lepisto, etc., so he was forced to trade Scott to get down to 50 contracts.

5th rounder is good for Scott.

I don't care much about the toughness more so the entainment that is lost. That's personal taste stuff.

Lord...Scott is a bowman guy so its not about moving a player he misjudged. Its more so no one wanting our trash.

Funny thing is scotty going to help that rangers dressing room and torts will probably use him properly.

Moving on.

I understand the need to move a player to get within the limit. My post was more towards Juniors ability to build a team.

I have never thought for one fucking second that Scott was a "Bowman" guy. Seriously?

Doubtful, ask Andre Roy if he was used properly in Tampa.

Very sad but that's the case. And it's no secret trading Scott was the fall out for so many SHITTY players on the bottom. Those guys wouldn't be taken on waivers. So unless you send Olsen or Hayes down, your fucked. With Montedor possibly never returning this season and Hjarlmarsson having problems, Stan was able to really do nothing.

Good Job Scooter.

I'm not happy about this, but then again, I don't know the behind the scenes crapola. The more I think about it, the only players that would ever stand up to Scott, were the occasional 5 minute/game enforcers, never the guy running around causing the real problems. He was able to catch a few stragglers before the Linesmen ruined it, but those were rare. In that respect, his deterrence was more of a feel-good for his teammates, than a scare tactic to the opponents.

Nah...I still don't like it.

We'll be seeing John Scott on the opposing team this week.

Not me...I put my tickets up for sale. Scooter has no idea what he's doing. We piss away 2 draft picks on a D-man and then do nothing else except trade away a loved player who protects the boys, was not playing that bad and for what? A low pick...wow. I guess there is no room for a guy with character on this team anymore...we can rely on Carcillo for that now.

John Scott is a nice person. He'll be missed for that. But 'he was an insurance policy'? Really? Ask JT how his head feels right now.

You prove the opposite point by saying this--Scott was in the press box the night we are to believe Toews got hurt. Scooter is chasing his tail and has no plan.

Worth a 5th-round pick?

Players loved him no doubt... just from what they've said in interviews/on Twitter. And you have first hand accounts that RK has mentioned over the past couple of years.

The coaching staff (not Q or Haviland... but the skill coaches) really helped him improve his game. Turned him from an absolutely horrid player with the exception of fighting into a solid 6th dman.

Hope this doesn't sort of diminish the mood of the dressing room... from all accounts it seems like Scott kept the mood light as much as he could.

Exactly, just a bad message sent IMO. Something stinks.
