I'm more mad about what Stan didn't bother to add. There were lots of players that would have filled two holes on this team and he added NONE of them.

He's clearly admitting this team is no where near winning the Cup, and or he lacks the experience to find the right additions.

Vermette, Gill, there were a lot of guys that would have filled the two roles of depth we need. Instead Scooter failed. Thanks for firing Tallon Rocky.

But...Oduya = Campbell!

I've always been on the fence with Scott. He seems like a good guy but he wouldn't play in the playoffs anyway so I guess people are worried about missing the "lockerroom" aspect of him and not his on ice actions by being traded?

Toews concussion, Hammer concussion, Montador concussion, Sharp broken wrist, Kruger concussion. Who exactally has Scott protected this year? I just see more value having a player on the team that gets regular minutes instead of less than 5 minutes a game and glares at people. The days of the enforcer will soon be over and replaced by skilled players. It's happening already.

Scott pounded Engelland for the cheap shot on Kruger that gave him that concussion. He was on the ice when it happenned and he did his job. I guarantee every player on the bench appreciated that!

Actually I just counted. Hawks were at 48 contracts without the signing of Morrison and Hutton. Which put them at 50, the Max.

They were at the limit.

... It still didn't stop Engelland from going after Kruger.

There's absolutely no question the entire team liked him in the locker room and when he was in the line up. On the flip side his 2 minutes of ice time on some nights also effected the other forwards in putting more ice time on them. It's a catch 22.

Either way Stan did zero to improve his line up. And in doing so took character out of his locker room.

It would have been fine if Q used him as a 4th line forward, instead of a #6 defensemen.

But he made him pay the price and answer the bell for his actions. My guess is he wouldn't pull that shit again with Scott on the ice. Now everyone on the Hawks better have their heads on a swivel.

I don't think Stan is really "in it to win it" this year.

Looking over the potential FA's this offseason, we can definitely shore up our holes as long as we go after the right guys.

He did yes but Oduya does have some character. Im upset about a lot of this season also with Stan (I think I have made that clear throughout the season and Morrison was the icing on the cake). And I agree its a clear message that Stan doesn't see the team going anywhere this season so why try. Not sure if I like that message one bit and I am sure the players don't enjoy it either. I am glad that he didn't drop the first round pick though. 2nd AND 3rd for Oduya is a bit hard to swallow in a shallow draft or deep draft year.

like Zach Parise or Shane Doan? Face it, we don't sign a #2 center unless it's for big money, big years, and we will all hate the deal a year or two after it's made.

In today's NHL, and with the lack of respect among players, you have to have your head on a swivel regardless of who is or isn't on your team.

Question is, does this jagoff really know what our needs are? Cause he totally struck out this year and some of those clowns will be around for a few more years due to his great signings.

I would like him to resign Mayers.

There is a power struggle going on. Not sure how transparent it is but I eluded to it the other day to several people. It starts at the very top and trickles down. Not all is bliss in this organization.

I am sure a lot of it started when McDick and Stanbo took most of the credit for the cup!

Well the only contract other than Froliks extension that fucks us is Montedor. All others were one year contracts. Probably with the CBA in mind. Remember it's very likely the Cap is going down. I'd bet they are banking on that.

But by his moves or lack there of today he says this team is not a Cup contender. That, IMO is very sad. Now the team has the talent they could prove him wrong but will they? Will Q allow it? Without playing monkey on the lines.

Like Kruger as th #1 Center and Bolland not up there while JT is out. Q is the biggest problem this team has ATM.
