Kind of, but it sounds like he's getting an upfront signing bonus which will count against the Packer's salary cap this year (and subsequent years). It's better for them long term probably.

Makes sense. Pretty rare for a guy to sign an extension with 2 years left on his current deal. I think the Pack FO knows they don't have jobs without Rodgers especially McCarthy.
