Jahns is answering twitter questions and I asked a couple.

1. What do they think of Charles Leno in the building?

He said that they Love Him.

2. Are the Bears happy with the progress from Christian Jones at ILB.

He said they were and that he is so young and developing.

3. Why can't Alan Ball play over McManis?

Apparently Fangio hates Ball at NB.

Charles Leno will be one of the most fascinating players to watch moving forward

-poor preseason
-solid in relief of Bushrod
-low draft pick playing premium position
-loved by the coaching staff

If he could be the long term LT it would be huge.

It would be one of those cases of an actual football player making good rather than an athlete that is being trained to play his position, Bears don't have this happen too often over the last 5-7 years.

Still not sold on him personally, but if nothing else, you have solid depth in him which again it's something the Bears have lacked in forever.

I went back and watched every snap of Charles Leno last week, he improved IMO compared to his Lions tape. Much less pressure given up from speed-to-power moves from DL.

I also asked Jahns if there was anyone else that the Bears loved more than the media or fans knew, and under the radar guy they are high on.

His response

Every start seems to show some progress, on top of not being beat for sacks.

I do not want to get ahead of myself, but there might be something brewing here.

Crazy to think both ILB will be back starting next year. If the coaches do like them that's less needs in the offseason. I hope the coaches are right! Same with Leno.

Someone can always be worse that someone you see playing.

Ball's played this year...and every time McManis steps on the field, he's completely terrible. He was a major reason we lost the game yesterday. Fuller and Rolle didn't help either though.

At the very least Leno is proving to be quality depth...and I'll definitely take that. Bushrod is all but gone I think after the season is over.

I still think if the right linebacker falls to you in the draft you take him. There is never a reason to pass on good linebacker talent Unless you have an Urlacher a Keuchly or something like that sitting there in their prime which at this point Shea is not.

It is very similar to Webb.

Now Leno has been better in his 4 game run than Webb, and he doesn't seem like an idiot, so those are positives.

Webb was a toolbox and a revolving door. His signature move was turning around and dopily helping Cutler up off the ground after letting him get wrecked.

I still think we could have gotten alot more outta Webb if we connected a remote cattle prod to his ass and energized it whenever he lost focus
