Deadline on Wrigley Renovation Deal Extended: Sources

There was "sufficient progress" on Monday in marathon discussions between officials from the Chicago Cubs, the mayor's office and Ald. Tom Tunney's office, and Cubs executives have have agreed to continue discussions beyond their self-imposed April 1 deadline, sources told NBC Chicago.

We'll find out by Monday I suppose. It's still tentative, but all signs point to "probably" :D

Any way Ricketts can buy out the contract that the Cubs have with these losers?

If he can, he should and tell them to go kick rocks

I doubt the Cubs would have risked all this at the negotiation table if they thought the rooftops were a legitimate threat.

And, for good measure, and for warm fuzzies, Kaplan quotes a former GM who now scouts for another organization (and who may or may not be Jim Hendry):

“Tom Ricketts has always said that after expenses all of the remaining revenues will be reinvested into the baseball operations department. The thought of Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer and a big pile of money is a scary thought. I never thought I would say this but the Cubs are finally going to be the powerhouse that they should have been a long time ago.”

That last paragraph make me very happy...:D

Anyone else just tired of haring this crap on a daily basis..

Just make a deal already or do something else

Jeez..it be easier to buy new land and build a new stadium at this point...no lawsuits, no restrictions on jumbotron, night games, etc..Rooftop owners can go kick rocks

just do something already
