Am I the only person who doesn't like pink floyd?

If that is the case, then something is wrong. Floyd has such a huge spectrum of music. You can dislike 80% of all their music, but it would be amazing to say you dislike 100% of it.

The same goes for anyone that says they like 90-100% of Floyd. Maybe appreciate 100% of it, but actually like? Yeah, I call bullshit on that.
I completely agree... Some Floyd is awful but animals, obscured, and some others are classic.

I wouldn't say I dislike them. I don't really hate any of their music... but a lot of it is a slower pace, and there's only so many slow pace songs by an artist that I can listen to.

On my itunes playlist, the only songs I have by them are Young Lust, Hey You, Money, and Another Brick In The Wall. So I wouldn't call myself a fan, since I only have 4 of their many songs.

Young Lust is my favorite song by them though... I really like it.

I did. and pointed out I have not listened to 100% of it. (Why would I listen to 100% of a band that gave me a bad general impression? do you do that? I listen to music for enjoyment, not as a science.) so I don't know why you brought that up in the first place.

don't understand why you have to be a dick about it, but hey, enjoy your floyd. sorry I hurt their and your feelings

Lol ole... You brought this up.

my older sisters had dark side of the moon and the wall on heavy rotation... hell, in junior high, the band I was in did its share of floyd covers...i just never understood the fascination.

decatur, I know I brought it up. The thing that got my hackles up is it really gets on my tits when someone treats certain music as if it is objectively good, and that people who don't like it just don't "get" it. pisses me off. like I said, it's part of why I quit playing music. Musical preference is subjective and it's one of the things that makes music writ large great.

I started this thread because bbc6 was doing a piece on floyd and dark side of the moon and interviewed david gilmour during it. It reminded me and made me wonder (again), why all the hype?

I've grown tired of Floyd for a long time now. I think it's because of the overplay on radio. I feel the same with many other groups as well. I'm into mid fifties to mid 60's music right now.

I'm fine. Just pointing out my own observation. I never called bullshit on you, but on someone who would claim they like 100% of all Pink Floyd's music. I really don't care about what you like or don't, but you made the thread.

What is bullshit, is you thinking that anyone is fooled by you baiting them into a flame war. Are you a drama queen or something? You need a better hobby.

Ya man, fucking music is subjective... That's what makes it great.

Unlike sports, business, and politics there is no score... You either like it or you don't... It's art.

People that rank art are hypocrites and ignorant.

so I baited crystallas into a flame war by forcing him into this thread at gunpoint. you learn something new every day. guess I need to stop inciting and pissing off the site VIPs by starting threads asking questions about bands. give me a fucking break.

for the record, your statement was that anyone who says they like 100% of pink of floyd is just as guilty of bullshit as anyone who says they dislike 100% of floyd. see how that works?

anyway, decatur, agreed wholeheartedly.

The Division Bell is perhaps the best 90s album I have ever heard by a 60s band.

Ya that's a good one... I've got a JayZ lyrics over Grateful Dead tracks... Best 90's rapper over 60's music I've ever heard... :)

It's called JayZs dead if ur interested.

So now you're using the failed argument of a false choice.

for the record, your statement was that anyone who says they like 100% of pink of floyd is just as guilty of bullshit as anyone who says they dislike 100% of floyd. see how that works?

No, I was pretty clear. The reversal applied to the mirror argument, the bullshit applied to the former. You decided to take it personal on a hair trigger.

You win, Crystallas. Flame war over.

So, back on topic, am I the only person who doesn't like the percentage of pink floyd music I've heard?

I can tolerate "Wish You Were Here". I still remember how to play "Comfortably Numb" and parts of "the Wall". I was more interested in playing Pere Ubu but you had to play classic rock back then to get gigs where I grew up.

People used to tell me Floyd was really good trip music. But Lawrence Welk is really good trip music.

I'm not a fan of Pink Floyd. I like Korn's cover of Another Brick in the Wall, however.
