So because we but up against the elementary school and a neighbor goes all out we get 250+ kids with our high being just over 450 kids one year.

We grow corn simply for decoration.

Kids get candy and a tract. We average about a tract or two on the ground each year.

Younger kids get coloring books when we have them.

Last two years I deliver however which is by far the scariest thing for me. You never know when a kid is going to walk right into the middle of the street and it happens often on Oct 31.

Well I'm trying to convince the fiance that we shouldn't, but she keeps insisting it will happen once we get married.

Just get a dog. Seriously. That's what I did. Once my wife found out how much work and money a dog is, that really tempered her expectations of having a kid.

Yes because the rewarding life a dog provides is on the same level as a child of your own.

He's trying to figure out what other pagan traditions he can usurp in order to push his religion on children.

Past 2 years took the wife down to the river on Halloween weekend. Spent the day there with her and did some night fishing. Doing that again this year.

brett, serious series of questions:

1. Has a parent ever been upset that you did that?

2. Has a parent ever returned it to you?

3. Has a child ever refused it?

Does heavy drinking count as a tradition if you do it on, say, Tuesdays?

Kids are a personal decision. Wife and I chose not to make that commitment. You are not right or wrong for having or not having children. And if anyone tells you any different either way, tell them to get bent. Dogs are not a substitute for children, though we've had seven in our years of marriage and presently have three. No one should have kids or start "trying" right after they get married unless they are very sure and I would suggest have already lived together. Enjoy being free of the constraints and, if after a couple of years, you want to have kids then, by all means, have children.
