I figured that now that its all over, we might as well discuss this now while we're a day away from seeing it live and bringing out the waterworks again.

The official parade route has been announced, as everyone knows. The ticker-tape parade officially starts at 10:30 and the rally is at 11:30, but if anyone was at the Clark St mayhem last night, chances are we may want to get there VERY early.

So, the question remains: Who wants to meet up as a group and have a specific spot? Yes, this means come VERY early. I'm down for claiming a spot down in the rally area...

For those living in the suburbs or out-of-towners who don't want to pay the CRAZY fees set by the city, I have an idea for you guys... I may live on the NW Side, but if people have trouble with parking, if you come very early before I leave, you can claim a parking spot by my place, so you don't have to worry about parking downtown.

Looking at an 89 Degree Day tomorrow. Sunny, too.

Any other ideas?

My wife works at Monk's Pub on Clark/Lake.

I'll be going down there for some grub and to hang out with her at some point.

We are catching the Metra from the Burbs tomorrow morning around 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM, then walking to the rally spot.

Hmmm.... that sounds good for an after party.

Thats what I was thinking. Stu Grimson said he was planning the same thing as well. I'm wondering if I should wear my shirt from the party last night or my jersey, though. Its going to be 89 Friday, according to the Tribune, so jerseys might not be a good option tomorrow...

Take the Metra and taxi... and also bring your work uniform and jersey and you just might.

I was thinking along the lines about meeting up with people outside of either their metra train stops in Downtown or somewhere off-route, that way we don't lose each other and we can get pictures in. Jerseys again may not be a good idea if the temps are over 85 and most people have the common ones. As my number 95, Im one of the easiest to find, so I may consider wearing mine.

It will be hard to spot people sitting along the route... because if you saw the pics of Friday night, I expect that same amount of people coming to Friday's rally.

As for time, as Mass said, "I expect a clusterfuck of epic proportions", so I'm thinking 6 or 7am would be best to get a spot to claim to get to see the players up close. I'm thinking of standing at the rally area so we can get a good spot.

I'm going to go later this afternoon to see the work going on to see what we're working with, to give you an idea. Of course, if you've been to Wacker and Michigan, that shouldn't be a problem.

Theres plenty of taxis there, so yes, you should be fine. Just be prepared to bring taxi money.

The Blue Line takes 30 mins to get to Jeff Park, so I'm guessing to add on around 15 minutes more to Cumberland. The parade itself starts at 10:30. The Rally is at 11:30... Typically, the rallies go for around 1-2 hrs, so yes, you should be fine.

Hey guys, I'm trying to get the office building I work in to put together a bus trip down to the parade. Has anyone here ever put something like that together? If I do some of the legwork, maybe they will be more open to it.

Yw.... I will say one thing, though. Just be prepared, no matter what. There is one thing I can't prepare for ---- and this is why I'm going today.... Is the place going to be mobbed without fences or under control with them up? I'm guessing that since its going to be similar in size to the Pride parade, and the experiment with the fences worked very well last year, the Police will have it under control like they did last night, even without fences. Without fences, the Pride Parade was mobbed and went slower than usual. With fences up, things went more smoothly. With that in mind, and that we're going to Downtown for this, I expect the fences up, meaning things will be going according to schedule...

I will investigate and take pictures of my findings if I spot anything. If the police are smart, they'd block off the streets later this afternoon and get the stage up.

Im definitely concerned about the stage since we all want to be in the front and this is why I want to go early. I remember the 2016 Olympic Bid we had... When I was there an hour early, I was standing in the back. This is why we must be there early, folks!

I have in the past, but with major bus companies that shuttle over thousands of people and unfortunately, those are with the tourist companies like Chicago Double Decker Company and the boat rides along the river, so I doubt I'd be of much help.

Check with the bars around town that do their shuttle services and you might find some ideas to use.

Thanks CL, I will check with the bars. I'm in Schaumburg in case anyone hears of something in this area.
