We should be down there around 9:00 a.m. Taking a train right into Millenium Station. I think I'm going to sport the Toews road white even though it is supposed to be like 85...
According to the Tribune, try 88.

Looks like people are already lining up... YIKES!!!! I'm going now... I'll meet everyone at the rally spot, hopefully.

I'll be in a grey shirt and black Dickies cargo shorts as I said. Easy to see who I am by the 3 chains I sport. I'm likely the only latino-looking guy out there with a shaved head.

I'm at the corner of South Water and Michigan, near Hawkquarters. Forget the staging area. Already jammed. I could prolly squeeze in a couple in my standing spot.

This sounds like the part from Young Frankenstein where someone says "Could be worse, could be raining." And then it starts pouring.................

At one point, I was actually short of breath just standing there. The people were so thick, the humidity was so high, the air was not moving AT ALL because of the wind direction, and you could actually feel the oxygen being depleted as you stood there shoulder to shoulder with people sucking in the stagnant air. We left when the pushes from the back of the parade actually started smashing people between others. It was absolutely insane. I have never seen so much red in my life before. It was ridiculous.

P.S. I almost punched this drunken idiot in Cubs' gear that kept starting LETS GO BLACK-HAWKS chants. Fucking Special person.

Almost can't wait till opening night next season! Do we need an off season?

I'm not trying to stick up for the city but when you have that many people together how could you avoid the major clusterfuck. On a side note if only the diehard 5,000 or so fans who went to the games before the team got good had attended without the rest of the bandwagoners there, there would'nt have been a clusterfuck.quote]

Drove in from Rockford and was on the Blue line at Cumberland at 8:30. Walked to Clark and Washington and found a spot with my daughter and friend to watch the parade. Once the parade started they were able to get on a ledge of a building to watch and take pics. The parade was awesome, they kids are still talking about it and I would not have missed it for the world. The fountains pumping red, the crowd...... all excellent. The only part of the parade prior to it start was the idiot with the baseball chant as already stated. The confetti was cool, the players families in the preceeding trolley cars were having as much fun and excitement as the players themselves.

After the parade we took off north to sneak back onto Michigan several blocks south of the stage. We actually made it onto Michigan and after a few minutes decided we were getting out of there. The sun and humidity withough wind was getting unbearable and

we were getting crushed from being so crammed together. Not fun when with two teenage girls. We ended up crossing the river and getting on the back side of stage and listened before heading over to the Red line and heading to Wrigley. Myself and my girls had a great time overall. I love the excitement of the Blackhawks in the city right now. The banners lining the streets were awesome and 2 million people? Who would have thunk......

the statistics guy from U of C was on last night and showed how it couldn't have been 2 million people. He estimated based on his mathematics, and not the city's eyeball that it was somewhere just under a million. Just an FYI, the city also over inflated attendance at the Bulls' rallies. Still, all those people on a hot sweaty humid day! Fun to be a part of!

Either way, a fitting tribute to our boys, the organization and the Indianhead itself.

Read 2 appropriate comments on some non sports web sites this morning with a very tell tale theme............

NO RIOTS, NO LOOTING, NO CARS ON FIRE.

Just a good fun celebration for a Stanley Cup Champion.

The city and its citizens (not everyone there was a Blackhawk fan) should be proud of how they conducted themselves yesterday.
