I am still baffled as to why this is not in the park like the Bulls celebrations.

Maybe so Kanes family can watch from his condo in the Trump building?? :D
I'm guessing that they planned this all beforehand as they typically do.

They didn't learn from their mistakes yesterday, ESPECIALLY with Joe's Bar.... OMFG.... I feel like complaining to management about that one, in fact, I may take that straight to the higher ups and telling them that they will need a bigger venue in the future.... cause yeah, if I didn't have a backup option, which by the way, was at Crew in Uptown, I'd have been waiting like a dumbass all night outside the bar with no screens outside to accomodate. They were expecting the bar NOT to be packed? Talk about a lack of common sense.... Maybe I should be leading the event committee instead.

.... and they won't have common sense again tomorrow.

Which is exactly why we did Harry Caray's. Yeah Joe's would've been cool, but waaaaaaay too packed.

I'll be there, and we're going early, straight to the rally point. To me that's the only spot that matter. Like the others, I know that intersection well and I can't for the life of me figure out why they chose it. I can only throw out my conspiracy theory BS that they wan the trib building in the background for the pictures for some BS reason.

If I can find someone to go with, I'll probably be taking the train and I'll be heading straight to the rally spot too. Grant Park is being used for Blues Fest I think.

I'm not saying it has to be a park, but I know that intersecation well and it's going to be a clusterfuck. There is no real area for people to congregate, everyone will end up spilling onto the bridge I bet. 10 to 1 someone goes in the river tomorrow. (4-1 it's me)

So, meet up at the rally area then? What are you guys going to be wearing so we don't confuse each other for some greedy eh-holes taking the spot?

Blues Fest starts tomorrow, which takes up all of Grant Park. But given that Grant Park is taken, i think there are better options. Obviously, the City of Chicago picks the site, and they have a lot of things to consider, including of course money. Don't forget its the same city that recently canceled Venetian Night and the big Fourth of July fireworks display. Bastards.

Yea only waited for 3 people to be murdered and hundreds of others to be arrested and injuerd, its not their fault its like the TET offensive for those firework shows, worked the past 5 years at the Taste, got tear gas, ran through a murder scene(unknowingly), saw a woman get knocked out cold(by a man), multiple riots, gun shots within a block. I don't think I'm working this year and you couldn't pay me all the money in the world to go down there. Once people learn how to be human beings regular folks like us can once again enjoy the fireworks.

As for the parade, me GeneFoley, Shoots He Scores and a couple other friends are taking the 7:12 out of 99th street I believe. Hoping to get front row seats, I should be in my red Khabibulin with the "C" on it. Yea thats right, a "C" on a netminders jersey.

Gladly, should be front row however its gonna be set up. I believe the rallys right near HawkQuarters so wherever the fence is set up I'll be as close as I can to that.

Gonna be a long day, Parade waking up at 7, back home to set up at Hartes, go to Phish at 4, have them tear apart their tour opener and then go back to Hartes to play around 12 o'clock. By the time my bands done playing I might need a stretcher.

There's time to do both and a little birdy told me last night that the cup will be at Wrigley tomorrow.

Oh rly? Hmmm.... I got a light grey title shirt I can wear.... Just would be awkward in going in something OTHER than my Cubs jersey... And if I went in any Hawks jersey out there, it would be ... bad for my health, considering I hate the heat.

But on the good side of things, I do have my Cubs ticket still... I'm going to be in section 505... Thats a bit far from the Cup area.

I'll be up in the front of the area as well... so I'll be wearing my light grey Hawks SC Title shirt and likely black cargo shorts. Considering I hate the weather being over 85, ick....

We should be down there around 9:00 a.m. Taking a train right into Millenium Station. I think I'm going to sport the Toews road white even though it is supposed to be like 85...
