But that ties into my previous post. Those teams don't have hallowed halls and history.

Think about Old Chicago stadium, imagine going ot a game that was the same place Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita took the ice, or Espo, countless other greats. That magical dude. I've been to the UC once and I seen Toews 1st NHL goal but I was in awe of the UC. Where MJ and Pippen dominated the NBA together. Where the likes of JR, Cheli, Shantz, Suter, Sutter, Carney, Weinreich, Belfour all those guys played (I got into hockey, video game at least, when those guys were on the roster) my god it was fucking cool.

The Hawks did not have problems in the Stadium. It was sold out 90% of the time. They really didn't get into the issue until the mid to late 90's going to just after the lock out. Every franchise has that 10 year period where they just suck. For the Wings it was during the 80s and early 90's. Every franchise goes through them. I believe had Bill Wirtz broken his loyalties to guys like Pulford and Smith it might not have happened quite like that for the Hawks. He did not.

Yeah, I wish I would have seen a game at the Stadium, but I moved in 92 when I was 4 and I wasn't really aware of things until they shuttered the thing. I got to look inside the doors once at Christmas in 1994 I think.

I'm just glad they aren't tearing down MLG.

That place was the wildest building I've ever been at for a hockey game. Especially as a kid. There is almost no way to describe it.

I have seen the youtube clip of the Anthem at the all star game on the eve of Desert Storm. I swelled with pride to be able to say I am from Chicago. I love the city, I love the sports teams, I love all the history (sports and otherwise) just wish I could afford to move back.

I wasn't there for the Allstar game but I agree that was definitely a moving moving moment.

I was in College. Same place I was watching the playoffs the next year. In the bar having the Penguins sweep us and parade the Cup on our home ice.

I have to admit, when I went to the UC in March vs. Detroit I was underwhelmed. Maybe it was because I was sitting in THE VERY LAST ROW but I was expecting it to be ear splittingly loud but it wasn't; hell, Nashville was louder when I went to a playoff game there.

Oh well.

It was pretty loud a few times last year but the sound in the UC can not be compared to the sound at the Stadium. They knew they could not match that in such a cavernous building. But there are or were 4000 more seats.

I've never been in a building like the Stadium. Not even the Jo in Detoilette is like it.

I also thought that because I was in the very top and very back of the building I wasn't as immersed in sound as I would have been if I would have had your seats for example. However, I'm not an expert in the functions of sound waves so I may just be saying shit to say shit at this point.

They win the Cup AGAIN and they might just find some extra cash laying around.

**** it make it happen. Buy off the refs. I am all for cup #2. God I would love that the club I play on in NHL11 is primarily Wing fans so I hear about how the hawks suck all the time, god repeating would just be epic. At least win the division and not lose to the wangs in the playoffs.
