Those reporters keep trying to find something.... anything... to back up their narrative that our front office/Halas Hall is a mess. Yet Ben keeps saying it was the front office/Halas Hall that sealed the deal --- namely McCaskey, Warren and Poles.

Our media sucks. They get tunnel vision, make the wrong call, then become d*cks trying to save face.
You don’t bad mouth your bosses to the press. Especially at the first press conference.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
I think I heard him say he wants a defense that stops the other team from scoring a lot of points unlike the team he just came from that couldn't stop Washington (the football team, not me).
Seemed like a relevant question.

My apologies for asking an apparently dumb question.

Did he speak about what style of defense he would like to see out of his DC?

Not really, it was more just general statements about wanting to be tough, aggressive, and really good at situational football like getting off the field on 3rd or 4th downs, stops in the red zone, end of half, end of game, etc. He did not talk about any sort of preference to 4-3 vs 3-4 or anything like that.

Thank you. I know even coaches with an offensive background have preferences, so I was more wondering about base alignments.

My comment was not anything directed your way. It was a dig at the Lions D. Sorry if it came off wrong. Your question is relevant. I guess we'll know the answer when the DC is chosen.

Actually he did (maybe not at the press conference). He said he wants a DC that that makes the opposing QB uncomfortable and confused.

So sounds like the type of defense that disguises coverages and puts pressure on the QB. Which would be consistent with what Dennis Allen does.
