He had a wrist injury last year that he admitted was still affecting him in spring training. I don't believe he said that it would hamper him all year. I specifically recall him trying to downplay the injury. That said we as Cubs fans have watched how a wrist injury can affect a player for multiple seasons before.

He may downplay it, but it seems like it still could be a bit of an issue. I'm guessing that's why he had a day off over the weekend. The soreness could be a concern, but hopefully he can play through it and produce, like Deng with the Bulls this year.
