That was rather entertaining. Doughty was out there for like 3 hours straight in the 3rd.

I bet he's crying right now.

main reason they didnt make the playoffs in my opinion. Guy logged way too many hard minutes this year. they needed substantial blueline depth help esp with the asshole voynov suspended all year.

I am a big Doughty fan and the Kings asked way too much of him this season. Didn't help when Kopi started the year so bad either. those games early in the year were also costly.

ill miss the kings in the playoffs and i really did want to see another rematch for fun. i dont hold a grudge against the Kings like a lot of hawks fans due to that offside call. thats the officials responsibility not the kings. seen the hawks score on offside goals in the playoffs too. maybe not as critical but it happens.

Yeah, the Kings, in general, have played a lot of hockey over the last handful of years. I certainly wasn't expecting them to miss the playoffs, but I'm also not surprised that they sputtered out down the stretch, if that makes any sense.

This is my fear with the Hawks as well.

right? the kings looked like the hawks in 2011 a little this year. Worn down missing a few guys (not cap related like the hawks in 2011 though just injuries and suspensions). little disorganized through the year and like keith that year who was completely burnt out Doughty this year while still productive wasnt at his best all the time.

Should be an interesting off season for them they have cap issues too now. a couple good young guys in the pipe. They should still be a good team next year and a good full offseason won't hurt em. Lots of simillarities btw the kings and hawks thats why they have matched up well the last couple years and probably will continue to down the road.

On the other side of that Kings/Flames game, that Johnny Hockey certainly is impressive, eh? I know he's already established himself pretty well, but he's only gonna get better and better.

Yup. Fantastic rookie season for Johnny hockey (and what a nickname lol). Great crop of rookies this year around the league. Going to be a good rookie of the year ballot. Johnny, Ekblad, Forsberg, Stone, Klingberg, Hutchinson, etc etc

I think Johnny may have put himself at #1 now but points can be made for all these guys and others. I am biast towards blueliner rookies and hope Ekblad gets it but I think its become Johnnys to lose now.

With the Flames making the playoffs, and them being considered outsiders due to lack of talent all year, I would have to go with Gaudreau as the ROY

Forsberg had huge impact boosting Nashville early but has really trailed off making an impact post January, and the same kinda applies to Ekblad. Stone only came on as impactful late in the year so I think Gaudreau having been very effective all year and especially as of late will get his hockey honors.

Anybody else see these ugly-ass sweaters the Kings are wearing? Must be the year of the giant Special person numbers.

Daryl Sutter was locked out of the locker room by the Kings a few weeks ago. Now that's a sign the coach has lost the players...

I just read that this morning and saw where the GM Lombardi was like, no it's not a big deal, these types of things happen all the time as a matter of fact I think we had an incident earlier this year and they won 8 in a row.... hahah a GM trying to justify his coach losing the team as a good thing. Awesome.
