He took Torres? Just what the Laffs needed. At least it guarantees we won't see him in the playoffs.

Torres ended up having surgery again but he was going to stay with the San Jose AHL team regardless. Was just a contract/money issue for why he was added in.

The Blues picked up G Nilsson from the Oilers. Elliot had been a big part of their recent success but it looks like his injury could be pretty serious (Afterall he was put on LTIR after it happened). Allen will need to pick up where Elliot left off if the Blues want to find continued success.

Solid deal by SJ to get some insurance behind Jones. Stalock hasn't been great at all this year.

Funny because all they were talking about last night as SJ dominated Buf but Johnson stood on his head was how Johnson could be going to SJ any day now.

Very quiet morning considering it's trade deadline day. Things should heat up a bit over the next 2 hours.

Dallas pulls off biggest trade of day getting Russell from Calgary.

Calgary gets Jokipakka, a prospect, and a conditional second-round pick that becomes a first rounder if Dallas makes it to the WCF and Russell plays in 50% of those games.

Suddenly the price tag for acquiring Andrew Ladd doesn't seem so bad.

Avs gave up 2 good prospects and dumped Tanguay for Boedkker. Probably could have had him in free agency. 2 prospects is to much to give up for bargaining rights IMO. They are 5 points below a playoff spot at this point with 18 games left and closest competition has games in hand on them. I will be surprised if Boedkker = playoff wild card for them.

Demers sustained an injury last night that could be serious. If in fact serious and he misses the rest of the year - it would be a big blow to the Dallas Stars. They went out and improved their D at the deadline by adding Russell (and trying to add Humhuis) but this would certainly be a big blow for their blueline.

Maybe Johns finally gets NHL Time... or they choose the 2-3 D prospects who are actually ahead of him in their talent pool instead.

Right as the Blackhawks game is ending the Caps and Kings game will just be starting. Should be a good game for anyone interested in watching two of the other teams that certainly will be contending for the Cup. Kings finally got some offensive production that they were looking for last game by putting Carter on Kopitar's right wing and he should be there again tonight.

good tip. Yeah...we had a 3 peat actually except Doughty decided we didn't for 4 periods. Doughty is the one guy who could pencil his name in this era along legends like "Keith" "Toews" "Kane" "Seabrook" "Hjarmolson" "Sharp" "Ladd" "Hossa" if he ever wins a third cup. He played like a champion and took over.

Meanwhile, that Capitals team absolutely dominated us. I haven't seen us stuck in our zone so pathetically in many years. Their forecheck and possession is amazing. They can play with us is what that game taught me, even though Crawford would not be denied that day, its easy to see why they are winning at a record pace this season.

He was recalled today. With Jo. Benn and Demers injured, the team is definitely in need of a Dman to step up.
