Painting #1 - The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe (which is lovely BTW) just called, they are having their attorneys craft a Cease and Desist letter tomorrow so they can go about the business of showing that they are taking advantage of all legal remedies to protect their "brand".

Painting #2 - Ummm. . .the Vancouver Olympics are lonnnnng over? So it's probably safe to lose the whole "First Nations shoutout" tourist schitck you fucking crunchy granola Vancouver hipster.

Painting #3 - That looks like someone on the BBC's "Dr. Who" set decided to play a prank on the Art Dept. and paint the inside of the Tardis door for shits n' giggles.

. . .This concludes tonight's installment of "An Art Minute with Bookjones".

Georgia O'Keeffe? I see no flowery vagina petals in my paintings!!! By the way when I saw my first O'Keeffe in person I was reborn.

As for the other two you are right and I refuse to argue.

Look, don't play willfully obtuse taint biscuit. You know, you know that I know, and you know that Stieglitz knew that O'Keeffe is also synonymous with bovine skull paintings not just "flowery vagina petals". As I said, expect the Cease and Desist via FedEx by C.O.B. today Vancouver time. Thankfully, you have wisely conceded to me on the other two paintings from my "Art Minute".

Now since you've been a good sport while I piss all over your artistic spirit and integrity I am going to leave you a little Hump Day perk me up gift you oboe-loving grundgy fool.

^ That's Mr. Smith to you. Fine oboist and older brother of one Mr. Benjamin Smith, current Blackhawks prospect.

Was in NYC recently and visited The Met Museum - to my good fortune they had just opened a Matisse exhibit. It was breathtaking and I learned a lot... had no idea he questioned himself and his talent so much. The exhibit was very well done. I also visited the Egyptian wing and the American wing.

D'uh douchebag. The Met is ALWAYS AMAZEBALLS. . .even without the special exhibits!

But enough of slagging you. Also AMAZEBALLS are the National Gallery, the Louvre, the Guggenheim, the D'Orsay, the Uffizi, the AIC, the Tate and on and on and on and on. I admit it, I am a museum whore and I prioritize them above all else when I travel. I go someplace, I have to visit a museum. . .art, natural science, history,. . .in the end it doesn't matter. And everyone who knows this or travels with me understands my objective and is either down with the program or I tackle that shit solo but either way I get my ass some culture!

Well I am stuck in Vancouver which doesn't have the pizzaz museums and Galleries. Although the few are above average just not carrying the WOW factor. I suck okay? You happy now?

And lay off man!! I'm not even a real big impressionist fan but I have respect for Matisse. For me even to get excited about a impressionist is something that should be celebrated damn it!!!

Also. If you hate Impressionism man would your ass hate the Art Institute of Chicago! For reals. And especially the D'Orsay, lol. Nevertheless, I feel even you the artistic ball-buster would be impressed if you stood in the gallery at the MoMa that houses the ginormous Monet "Water Lilies" tryptych. It's an overwhelming visual even if stylistically it's not your cup of tea.

Such an abusive message board sometimes.

I do want to stand infront of "Water Lillies" it's one of those pieces I have heard that just pulls you in. I only appreciate impressionism fully when I can be infront of it in person (thats not rare with any form though now is it). I may not love impressionism but I do respect it a lot. Im sure somewhere down the road I will be practicing it fully instead of borrowing for abstract purposes.

I would never hate the art institute of Chicago. NEVER!!

True. You bet your sweet lily white ass it is abusive. "IHN Member Evaluation" anyone? Anyone? Bueller? BUT it also sometimes has impressive people so that takes some of the edge off.
