The only negative with Jeffery is his health.

If they think it will negatively impact his future and its not worth the gamble, then they should trade him. I would not be happy, but it is what it is.
Why would you not be happy about it? You just said that if they negatively of his future, then they should trade him...

If the Bears decide that AJ has no future with the team I will be very disappointed. If it turns out they were right, I hope they get decent return. If they dump him and they were wrong, I will be Billboard level pissed.

Why would you trade him? When it comes time to play and if he doesn't, he won't be collecting a paycheck. My bet is he does suit up to play when those fines start coming.

This. If he sits out or is out of shape and doesn't play well this will validate the rumors coming out of college. He will lose A LOT of money. It already looks bad that he missed so much time for soft tissue injuries last year. That's an indication that he has bad conditioning, or he's a bit weak.

They would need a new contract in place before any trade. No one is trading for a tagged player without knowing they can agree on a new contract.

Is this directed at me? Saying the Bears trading or not resigning Jeffery is a possibility is idiotic? Please elaborate.

It was directed to whoever wrote that article. It was as stated a waste of time. Jeffery is not getting traded, and shouldn't be traded.

He's still going to get around 15 million in the first year anyways who's gonna afford that?

Why is it not a possibility he is working on improving his resistance to soft tissue injuries rather than voluntary workouts. He has been with jay his whole career, staying healthy is more important at this point.

After releasing and/or trading Marshall, Forte, Bennett, and Slauson, how can anyone say with complete confidence this isn't even a remote possibility?

Forte was 30
Marshall was a club house cancer that got in fights with our kicker
Bennett body slammed our first round draft pick CB and then pouted because he didnt get a new contract
Slauson was a move for youth (a stupid one, but a move for youth)

Jeffery is not old, he inst fighting with our other players, he simply chose to work out on his own. This is a normal thing for franchise tagged players. He will either play on the franchise tag or sign a long term contract. There is no evidence that Jeffery will be traded, it is all nonsense.

Again, this article was a waste of time, and whoever wrote it should be ashamed.

He already said as much. That is in fact what he wants to do. Eliminate any soft tissue injuries going forward.

I think it would show great weakness on Pace's part if he traded Alshon. Then you know he is simply a John Fox "yes man". I'm not sure what the anecdotal recovery stories are for WRs who have metal rods in their legs...but I still have a feeling that Kevin White will always have major injury problems in the NFL. I think at this point Alshon holds all the bargaining power.

Not sure how much bargaining power he holds right now.

Been both productive and injured
Long term contract negotiations weren't mutually agreeable at this time.
The franchise tag was used for one of its' intentions... demonstrate and define what you are at this 'critical juncture of your career'... then his bargaining position is established whether its with the Bears or his new team.
Important time for Mr. Jeffery.

Maybe White will light a fire under Alshon's ass.

Julio and Dez Bryant both signed their long term deals right around the deadline. These negotiations tend to drag out. I would hate to see him go.

And interesingly the 5 teams with more then enough cap space to facilitate a trade could all use a receiver. I wouldn't rule out a trade, though I think he will most likely be a Bear this season.

Because I think his talent is worth the risk, but I would respect their decision.
