They will ignore this and just say other teams got rid of him blah blah blah...Briggs talked about teammates fighting each other in practice and their was no coach who prevented it. So instead if blaming everyone, let's just blame Marshall...a guy who played his heart out and called people out for not doing the same.

Forte.....gone
Marshall....gone
Bennett....gone
Slausen...gone
Cutler...here

Out of those guys, who performed and we're always playing amongst the best at their position? Who didn't? Who is still here? Who's position still hasn't been addressed? Yet look at the league and teams with proven starters still address the QB position.....Pace and Fox love to say "this is the kind of guy who represents us and the Bears." Yet they cut Slausen who was a perfect example of what they always tout. Age? Signs a guy older than Slausen and he is still here? 2.7 MIL is what they save by getting rid of him? Their vet moves are pathetic at this point.

Basically **** veteran leadership

Yeah, all those amazing veteran leaders who let the locker room tear itself apart in '14.

Has it occurred to people that Pace and Fox don't want anything to do with anyone from the previous regime which was a national embarrassment and the worst team the bears had fielded in 40 years? I think if he could he turned over every single player from that team last year he would have.

They didn't exactly keep brandon Lloyd around long. And Martellus will be on another team next year. Epic fail of an example. Lol.

But they brought these guys in knowing they have 'character' issues, so to say the patriots only sign eagle scouts is inaccurate. The only epic fail is your reading comprehension

Who called Marshall and Bennett a leader...last time I checked that was Cutler's job...yeah the same one a coach called out as well.

Forte was a leader, Slausen was a leader unless Long is full of shit in his tweet. I like how you pick two off the list that were never looked at as leaders....Marshall put it all out on the field and had no issues til his last year...apparently he wasn't the only one. Bennett was not used and was frustrated....him being shipped, I understand. Forte nope, Marshall nope, Slausen nope

Also you can't cry how they feel about every player, when they praise the one guy who couldn't perform and his supposed great turn around last season was good for 19th....yes!

Lets say Bennett is a total disaster in New England. Belichick releases him during the year. The difference between the Pats "philosophy" and the Bears "philosophy" is that after Bennett is gone, the Patriots still have Tom Brady throwing to Rob Gronkowski. The Bears have Jay Cutler throwing to Zach Miller. Anyone can "change a culture" by getting rid of every player who is temperamental, regardless of All Pro status. The trick is finding good football players. The Patriots can always find players who are productive in their offensive and defensive schemes. Last year, the Bears had to play Shea McClellin at MLB because no one else on the defense knew the plays. The two teams are in completely different places.

I thought perhaps one of the most obvious thoughts to even the densest of CCS posters would be "the Bears aren't like the Patriots", yet you continue to compare them as if they are carbon copies.

Mind-blowing.

Here's what you aren't getting. You are comparing the same place in the process while obviously stating they are in 2 separate spots.

In time, once this system and culture is fully established, maybe we end up drafting our future Brady and future Gronk, and can be in the same spot. But yes, we aren't there yet. What seems to be lost on you is that by holding onto guys who resist the culture and don't buy in just because they are immensely talented, it can not only hold back the process, but prevent it from ever really coalescing, in which case you end up with a divided locker room, with which it is incredibly hard to win a Superbowl with.

Ultimately, what will determine whether the process they are in works is Pace's draft picks. No question on that at all.

But in the meantime, yes, we have a bit of a purge going, and those who don't fit for whatever reason will be let go. That doesn't mean everyone will be gone (although given how talent deficient the Bears have been before Pace, that's not out of the realm of possibility in the long run), but it does mean some good players who don't fit will be shown the door, and it will be incumbent on Pace to replace them in the draft.

And those rookies will be coming into a culture from day 1 that is rubber stamped by the GM and coaches, thus helping them adapt and adopt that culture as well.

Personally, I think its insane to treat this as a bad thing... provided the Bears can get the talent they need in the draft.

Are you hearing yourself? Bennett and Marshall as vet leaders? If that is the case your team is in big big trouble. These guys are the farthest thing from leaders. Marshall was to busy picking fights with kickers and flying to NY for Inside the NFL to care about his teammates. And Bennett... Guy has talent for days, but I wouldn't trust him to lead the conga line at my wedding.

The new regime came in and cleared house. That is what happens when you have a dumpster fire of a team, and lets face it. The 2014 Bears were a dumpster fire. I am really sorry you had to buy new jerseys, take down your BMarsh poster, and change your keeper in Fantasy Football.

But all the moves that Pace has made (except the Slauson release, even I don't like that one) were made to clear problem players that were not going to buy into Fox and his staff, or old players that were just taking reps away from our younger players.

How is ANY of this nonsense similar to the Patriots "philosophy"? The Bears are rebuilding, tearing down the roster, shipping out proven veterans WHO BUY INTO THE CULTURE like Forte and Slauson in order to free up playing time for unproven, younger players such as Langford and Whitehair. The Patriots are established, winning veterans who look to add role players to their core.

The Bears ship out Marty Bennett due to the Bears "philosophy". The Patriots sign Marty Bennett due to the Patriots "philosophy". The Bears are like the Patriots.

Great logic exercise.

And now, the people who put FoxPace on a pedestal want to get rid of Alshon because he hasn't yet signed the most significant contract of his life and chose to protect himself from injury and not participate in a voluntary workout. All of a sudden, Alshon doesn't fit the mold or mantra of the staff. Something really changed since FoxPace offered him the tag due them knowing his talent level and him signing it. This is all SOP with the Tag. Unfortunately, most Bears fans are clueless on this because we rarely ever get anyone good enough to tag. There is enough proof of this SOP all over the league. Miller isn't participating in Denver. I doubt Elway is as butt hurt over this as FoxPace and his blind followers are.

These fans enjoy being in perpetual building mode and title it as such because they can always lean on that when those they worship render poor decisions as if they are perfect. They condone getting rid of talent and defend it actually as if we're more talented for doing it and think that next draft pick is a guaranteed replacement who will be a choir boy and be liked by every player and like every player and exchange secret Santa gifts with much tought put into them. Reality check here - even Belichick fucks up. Look no further than Bostic and McClellin. The key is to acquire more talent than you miss on and to try like heck to retain your better players.

I know it will be very fun watching Gronk and Marty as a tandem. I'm sure Brady is stoked about that. Brady gets Gronk and Marty and Cutty gets the injury prone Miller, he of one good 4 game stretch in his 8 year career and Khari Lee, he of 1 catch for 7 yards in his inaugural season. I don't see any Ds having to game plan for our TEs but I'm guessing they will for NE. Cutty gets the short end of the stick here - again.
I'm really interested to see how Marty does with 'The Patriots Way' and their no nonsense approach to football. I could see Bill getting fed up with Marty's antics real quick and I could also see that environment being really good for Marty. Getting him to lock in every day.

On the Alshon trade front. I think he has a lot to prove to this staff but they know it'd be dumb to get rid of him right now. Bears hold the cards in this negotiation and they know it. Big year for him both in production and games played.

Well said.

It's really refreshing to see a new poster who actually has good perspective, "get's it", and isn't afraid to call it the way it is.

Who wants to get rid of Alshon? I think you need to relax a little. No one other then some want to be writer on Sports Mockery is calling for Jeffery to be traded.

If Pace has any inkling that Jefffery wants to play someone else and that a long term deal can't get done, he's going to have to trade him. That's if the rumors are true that he doesn't love it here in Chicago. There's no way Pace would tag him two years in a row.

Perhaps you haven't read all the posts on the 10 pages of this thread? There are plenty of people who want FoxPace to shit can him.
