Do you know the grade on that trade? For the lazy. Cowboys are 12th and Bears are 10th. If that gets an additional 2nd, I think you gotta do that. I'd rather have 3 2nd's.

But the Bears need a 3 down back. Maybe sign Najee Harris? I know it isn't a big splash signing but the guy gets 1K yds. Or draft a RB later...

Najee isnt even good. Swift is just as mid. I'd rather get jaylen warren to be a backup and skip drafting a RB.

Bears fans are stupid and never learn. Fix the fucking trenches.

I like jeanty but the HEAVY majority of teams he faced this season were bottom 10-20 in rushing defense.

He basically beat up on the worst of the worst on his way to almost setting a record.

He wasnt effective against penn state when his oline wasnt opening holes for him. Just like pretty much every RB in the history of the NFL outside the GOATS.

Fix the OL and swift will start looking much better. If the OL still looks like crap jeanty will average 3.9 YPC too next year

Najee is 1000 yards good. And cheap. It's one of many options. But saying he isn't good is stupid.

Draft an RB later like Judkins, Henderson , or Gordon III.

I don't love him... but if he is truly cheap, I'm in. He otherwise seems inefficient, though it could be a line problem in Pitt. I will say I worry what he may expect in terms of money since he was a former 1st round pick. He might think he's a bit more value than he really is. I also don't trust him after the Lisfranc injury, so wouldn't want too much guaranteed cash long term in there.

I think once he tests his market, he will realize he isn't worth what he thinks he is. But if that's who the Bears end up with, it wouldn't be the worst thing. He is 💯% an upgrade over Roschon.
I'd rather they draft one though.

I think the Bears will go OL at 10 as OL is the most glaring need for the Bears. RB at 10 is a luxury pick you make when you have the most critical positions on your team filled. The Bears aren't close to that. I am excited to have Johnson as the HC as I'm hoping him being around an elite OL for several years will help our evaluations of what a great OL prospect looks like.

DL at 10, OL x2 in round 2.

If Johnson wants Jeanty, I'm good with it. Because in that scenario the Oline would have gotten a good shot in the arm in FA. Drafting Pre injured oline procests comes with it's own risk and that's very likely what the bears will be starring at with pick 10.

Exactly. I said this before. There is a good chance OL will not be the pick at 10 due to the weak (imo) OL class at the top. Poles and Johnson may not want to pick a G at 10 and may not want to draft an injured LT like Simmons at 10.

So, DE/DL, or Jeanty.

I understand the opposition, but a FA G and a G in the 2nd plus Jeanty will be in the cards for them. As will just going someone like Nolen, etc.

I am not gonna get into this Center thing. That was easily fixable last year with Cooper Beebe who has an All Pro future at that position and went in the 3rd round.

However, not to discredit the draft gurus on here, they do very well. But I don't buy into this thing every year where this is a bad year for this position, etc. Last year was a bad year for edge rushers lol. Some of the best QB years were supposed to be horrible and vica versa.

Bring back Shelton on a reasonable deal. Take Jake Majors in the 3rd. Let them compete. I’m sick of the mess the C position has been for years on this team.

Dont underestimate Swift's role in the new offense. He's very familiar with Ben's playbook and schemes. Plus if our OLine does improve a bit, he's shown he can do very will in those situations.

RE: Najee Harris

The only thing that stands out about him is that he has stayed healthy.
He has played every game throughout his first four years.
He is a fine for the right ( CHEAP ) price.

Offensive snap counts: 83.5% 65.8% 53.1% 50.4%
Yards per carry: 3.9 3.8 4.1 4.0

He was a first round pick and Pittsburgh declined his fifth year option. He is pretty much "just a guy" or "mid." With the possible exception that you may like his health profile a little more then some other FA RB's.

Yeah, he started out with this big time reputation, and personally I saw a guy trying his ass off, without results. But, for years now it seems like he has no where to go, and is bombarded with tacklers before the line of scrimmage.

Possibly @jsu34 can give us insight.

I have no idea how Najee has stayed healthy. Early in his career he looked like he did at Bama, but as the line play declined he was getting hit a lot before he could get going.

This past year saw him not hitting the holes consistently. Personally I think it's the run scheme and poor line play. Steelers lost 4 starters on the line this years so it's hard to say what's really wrong.

It doesn't help his case having Warren come in an attack the LOS though.

That aside, he's a hard worker and can be tough to bring down once he gets going.
Figure Monty with better speed.

I want no part of this guy. You're right, he's "mid". Or "meh". Absolutely does nothing to move the needle. Especially in a year with a strong RB draft, it makes no sense to consider this guy.
