Do you really think he's going to get faster as he puts on more mass?
You've got an obsession with speed alone at a position of speed, strength, quickness and technique.

And you're making assumptions that are far from sure things.

Do I think he will be better in Year 2 than in Year 1? Yes. You apparently think he'll be jabba the hut and worthless.

i know they wanted Trice in the 3rd but every site i look at has Booker ranked slightly above Trice
I suspect Taylor was always the plan in 4 and it was projected he was going in 4 or 5. When Booker fell, Poles did the right thing and pounced. Why did Booker declare this year? Probably a day 2 pick next year.

He's absolutely the opposite of Jabba where are you getting this??? He's only 240 lbs!

And you have repeatedly referenced how slow he will be when he adds needed weight. Have you forgotten your own argument?

He needs to add some muscle mass. He won't turn into Chris Farley.

I never said that he was fat or was going to be fat. I said he is currently slim and also slow and that he would end up even slower.

When you have to make up stuff I never said to try to prove something, you only prove ONE thing. Wanna guess what it is?

I know he can bulk up, only have 2 concerns on him. How much slower will he be after adding that weight, and can that weight be more towards his legs than his upper body. He needs a good base. His legs are thin. He reminds me a bit of Leonard Floyd with his build.

I’m not saying he can’t be good if he does add weight and still gets a bit slower. Some good edge rushers weren’t that fast. Mathew Judon ran a 4.7 40 time and had 2 seasons with at least 12 sacks. Yannick ran a 4.75.

Will it happen for Booker, I don’t know. But I’m not saying it won’t at this point. To early to tell. But I’m excited to develop this guy.

Watched as much you tube as I could while sitting in the truck waiting for my daughter to finish her prom dinner. He has great length and utilizes his long arms to lock out and control his blocker. He does not take plays off, has a high RPM motor that doesn't give up on plays. when rushing from a standing position he can win in a variety of ways. when with his hand inn the dirt he goes to his long reach to set up his counters. As a pure 4-3 he could use another 15-20 lbs but I think he can be moved around and brought in as a 3rd down specialist early because of his ability to also drop into coverage. He reminds me of a quicker but lanky Lenard Floyd I love the pick, he might be this years Max Crosby

I'm going to tell you what I like about this pick: If this guy gets to a point where he is a solid year in/year out contributor then I think it means the entire organization did their job. From coaching, to scouting, to nutrition, to strength and conditioning.

Guess I was Typing at same time, I think the Floyd comparison is spot on. Think he has better pass rush moves, but Floyd was more stout against the run.

It's going to take all of that and maybe this was Poles plan all along. Might need some PEDs too though

Nardflo ran his 40 .20 faster at the same weight though, and is taller and longer.

Shes only a sophomore so she went with friends lol. The only guy was about 6'2, 300 ish. bet he runs a 7.0 40 did not finish the shuttle, benched the bar 3 times. gets pancaked often, was a 0 star recruit, nice enough kid very respectful, from the look of his painted nails and flamboyant suit I dont think he would be drafted and is going to have a hard time making a team in camp.

I hope he can develop into a contributor for the team.

It’s a 5th round pick. Not sure what people are expecting.

It’s funny how people on here feel the need to tell you if they liked the pick or not. I get it somewhat if it’s a high pick. I don’t really give a shit about your opinion, but I get it. You’ve actually watched those guys. You know who they are. You found out who this guy was 5 minutes ago, read some write ups and watched some YouTube clips. What motivates you to think anybody gives a fuck what you think? Just shut up and hope he can help the team. You’re not grinding tape. You’re some nobody on a message board.

Considering the ongoing discussion and the draft is over, thought I would put a bigger snapshot in from the beast on Booker.

Sounds like something someone who hasn't watched all the tape would say.

Those saying add 10-20lbs, exactly what do you think 15lbs is going to do against players who have no problem going against players with 60 more pounds?

6' 4" 240-250 is not some scrawny twig. People are individuals not CNC machined products. 10lbs is not taking a big shit one day.
He may need strength but weight because he's a small number away from someone's made up perfect cookie cutter weight is BS. Humans don't work like that no matter what "coach's ego said".

If I remember right Lovie wanted lean fast. I think Poles' GM speak speech wanted solid brickhouse interiors, but I'm pretty sure people here have said Flus needed lean and fast.
I recall some Bears players where coach's ego had them put on a minor amount of weight and they were worse for it.

You're making stuff up to match something someone else made up for clicks. He's a 5th round pick. He'll need work. But this is not a fight where he has to meet a weight classification to be the perfect specimen. The amount of weight you're talking is a fighter floating between classes.

He's slow af bro. The weight is a whole different conversation.

Imo he's only going to improve his speed by actually LOSING like 15 lbs. And then he actually WONT be able to play DE..

Gosh. Yall are being so thick about this.
