No, it's not dumb. They repurposed bacon grease for another use, and that is roasting nuts(or in this case, legumes) without other salt. And they taste pretty damn good. Genius.

Since you have conceded, do you use bacon grease to roast peanuts? Because really, of all the things that people do with bacon and bacon grease, this is the first time I have seen anyone roast peanuts with bacon grease.

Na, never done anything with bacon grease like that. I use to make vinaigrette and other stuff. The reason I said what I said is because I believe Bacon is played out. They have a bacon bar. They make bacon bourbon. I love bacon like the next guy, but certain things I just find pointless.
