The offense you mean, and the kicker.

You say “offense” yet you are not keen on Baldy’s take on Mitch’s performance. I even saw you mention Wilson earlier.

The funny thing is, Mitch’s performance against SF was on par with Wilson’s. Mitch was more accurate/efficient, and had a few more yards, and higher yards/attempt.

Wilson had one more TD.

The difference? Carson had 119 yards rushing. Outside of Wilson, the Seahawks had 153 yards on the ground. Nearly double what the Bears backs and receivers carried for...

But it’s Mitch’s fault, right? May as well blame him for Parkey’s missed 37 yarder as well.

However, EVERY Seahawk, to a man...Wilson and Carroll included...if you were to ask them if they would rather beat SF 14-9, or lose to SF 23-26...they would ALL choose the former.

The Mitch bash fest that going on is hilarious.

The Bears have had a back crack 100 yards on the ground ONLY ONCE this season.

Yet those who bash Mitch, pine for Goff. And yet virtually every time Goff faced a halfway decent defense, and didn’t have a 100+yard rusher this season, he looked like shit. Even once with Gurley notching 200+ yards, Goff still only completed 50% of his passes, for barely 200 yards, no TDs and a pick.

The team Jared faced there, has the 15th overall ranked defense, and the 26th ranked passing D.

“A QBs best friend is a running game”

Well, Mitch has a 96 passer rating, and a 2-1 TD to int Ratio, with no running game...

And then there is the Kicker...

We have some legitimately dumb motherfuckers here. Our offense, in terms of scoring, had a down day. We probably should have scored at least 17-24 points. But sometimes shit happens, especially on the road. But people are making this huge fucking thing out of it like... 14 points is this offense's ceiling or something.

Trubisky made 1 mistake all day. Otherwise, he played a nearly flawless game in terms of taking what the D was giving him.

Yeah, we should have scored more points. We won a game on the road. **** it.

Right and if the Niners had scored 2 more FGs then they would have beat us so not sure your point. Scoring 6 ppg more is kind of a big deal. 23 points vs 14 or 17 points is the difference between an average offense and a shit offense. The offense was shit yesterday. Also Wilson also put up 37 on the Niners as well since he played them twice so I think he is doing fine.

And maybe we then call plays to push the ball more than taking what's given. The what if bell rarely rings true.

2 but only one counted. Expecting perfection is also asking a lot for 2nd year QB. He's still learning from his mistakes like young QBs do. Maybe next time he just eats the lateral.

As a team, we're a lot further along than expected and those that don't want to include Mitch in those credits are idiots. His pocket awareness has gone from iffy to uncanny, he keeps drives alive in various ways and is throwing to a bunch of guys that were backups other than Robinson who is just getting his full chops back.

Nah. We all want Mitch to be good. Baldinger's angle seems to be to talk Mitch up. I appreciate the superhomer take sometimes but I also appreciate a more balanced take that addresses both strengths & weaknesses. The offense put up 14 points last night and I want to know what's holding them back. Whether it's Mitchell, or the personnel or the scheme or the context of the games or some combination of these, I think a lot of fans would like to know why the offense isn't putting up 38 points like the Seahawks did yesterday and why Mitchell isn't setting the world on fire like a Mahomes or a Deshaun Watson.

I see the development too, I never disputed that Mitchell has developed, nor that he played well last night.

Some people just can't be satisfied w/the wait and see approach.Must have someone else's GF or wife cause hes never satisfied w/ the one he's got! Unfaithful DOG!!!!!!!!!!

He completed 2 pass that traveled more then 8 yards.

It's like complaining about a RB that has a bunch of 3.5 yard runs and then breaks a couple 30 yarders like they shouldn't count. The balls that traveled further, travelled significantly further and an 8 yard pass in the NFL can travel 20 if the opposite side of the field. I just don't understand the problem with this if you're completing 85% of them.
Ball control is part of how you stop another team from scoring. Mack makes a difference to this D but some of their improved rank has to do with the O.

I wish Mahomes had started every game last year. It would give the critics a little perspective on what Mitch is accomplishing year one in this system.

I see a talented, athletic QB with a strong arm and possibly the best feet in the game. He’s studying and grinding to always get better. Guys like that succeed. Plus, he’s a humble kid that’s never going to embarrass the team or fan base. I was a Mahomes guy prior to the draft and have zero regrets that the Bears have Mitch. I don’t think Mitch is anywhere near his ceiling and that is damn exciting.

There are no easy wins in the NFL and especially on the road.

Mitch has played solid football the last two games. With this defense that’s exactly what the Bears need from him. I was very impressed with his accuracy last game.

Do you think it is worth it to burn a draft pick on a RB? I kind of do

With no 1st or 2nd rd pick it's going to be risky finding the right back. They are out there but what if you dont get the right one. This offense needs a rb that spreads the field. In the same way Mack makes everyone better on defense, the right rb makes everyone better on offense and takes it to another level. Pace needs to do whatever it takes to get one and set this team up for a 3 year run of dominance.

Really doesn't affect my point, a couple super negative fans want to know what's holding this offense back from scoring like the top offenses in the league

Because any logical fan can quickly point out that this is every single players first year in this offense, with a first year HC calling plays for that offense.

Trolls gotta be trollin' though, I guess....

It's not just a few negative fans, the topic was repeatedly broached on Bernstein & McKnight across their 4 hours and then again on Boers & Spiegel. As previously posted, Tom Waddle brought it up too. So this is a thing fans are noticing and talking about, might as well talk about it here. People need to calm their ass down. Nobody is a Mitch hater at this point of the season, fans just want to understand what they're seeing.

I agree because Howard is too slow & not explosive enough. Howard is good for an offense like John Fox runs but not for a Nagy type offense.

Howard is not afraid of contact. Cohen runs out of bounds and avoids contact like the plague.....Howard has his spot on this roster.

Couldn't agree more. I'll bet the Ram's board had the same type of reaction when their TOP offense only scored 6 against the Bears. Dumb is dumb though and you can't fix dumb no matter where you find it.
