The offense you mean, and the kicker.

Nagy too. Didn't list the defense because they've played lights 2 outta the last 3 weeks but they have breakdowns too.

The special teams as a whole sucks. See Patriots game as an example and the kick return unit is terrible with the average and the inexplicable repeat penalties

Our Special Teams hasn't been very good since Dave Toub. But I think the coverage has actually been decent this year. Nothing more deflating than letting the other team's returner take it to your end of the field. Our return game sucks but I'd rather our coverage be good and our returner to suck than for our returner to be good and the coverage to suck.

I honestly think the Bears should be 14-1 right now. The Patriots were the only team to outplay the Bears. Close argument would be the Giants game. None of our wins did I think we got lucky or stole one.

the Patriots didn't even outplay the Bears. they narrowly won after scoring 14 points off special teams. you could make a better argument that the Dolphins did however.

Dolphins had 2 fluke TDs over 50 yards each. And we got fucked on the offensive PI call that would have put us up 15 in the 4th. And we missed a 50 yard FG in OT after all of that.

LMFAO, you posts were clearly hyping up his analysis and claiming CCS was wrong because of it. Again, all I want to know is why we only scored 14 points or 17 if you count the missed FG. I never realized 14-17 points on O could prove so many people wrong.

well if you watched the game you would know why the drives ended..

there was a total of 8 offensive drives in the game not counting the kneel down at the end of the game.

2 drived ended in TDs
1 Drive ended in a missed FG
2 drives ended with fumbles
and 3 drives ended in punts

first drive/punt was mitch went deep on a 3and 2 and missed AR12

second Punt we started on our 20 yard line and then went back on a penalty, a sack and a -3 yard run to set up 3rd and 26 and got 16 yards on a pass to get us at least out of kicking out of the end zone..

3rd punt Mitch hit AR12 for the first down but there was PI.. but the refs called offensive PI which was a completely bs call and that killed the drive..

That's a good point and the PR has been good and once Patterson's 95yd TD is removed, the stats are a lot better for the KR coverage. But how many stupid penalties will Tabor's unit have?

Mitch was good yesterday. I am not sure what the big picture problem was with the offense, but he completed 87% of his passes for 9 YPA. He had completions of 43, 20, 18.

They dominated the time of possession and should have killed the clock to end the game.

They scored 14 (17) in 1 game.

They average 28 ppg, even defense adjusted they average 24.

I am not sure why they didn’t score more against the 49ers. But it is hard to look at Trubisky and say he didn’t have a good day. The throw to Cohen was horrendous decision that killed a drive.

What do we think killed the offense

1. Field position and situations
2. Play calling
3. OL and penalties

The Bears only had 8 drives.

That would be a good place to start with why they didn’t score more.

Only punting 3 times a game is actually pretty good, if you actually get the ball more.

3/8 scoring drives

3/8 punts

2/8 fumbles

Mitch hates invariably come off as low-IQ in their posts. The chance nature of sports means they may still be proven correct, but I would say the type of individual who believes Mitch is Terri is the type of individual that is wrong much more often than they are correct.

People need to tap down the woody they have for Howard. Howard is the number one reason this team will not go very far in the playoffs. Trubisky played well enough the last two games combined with the way the defense is playing to make a serious run in the playoffs. Howard is 41st in the league in yards per attempt. The Bears are 28th in the league as a team in yards per attempt. The only reason they are not dead last in the league is because of Trubisky's yards per attempt. Before the morons here start complaining about the offensive line just take a look at KC's yards per rush with Hunt and after they cut him. They were top in the league before and near the bottom of the league the last three games. If you want to see this offense produce like you think they should you will have to wait until next year.

I agree. We definitely need a better scheme fit at the RB position next season. Imagine what Nagy could do with a Phillip Lindsay type back.

If this offense had a North-South RB that could hit the hole with some explosion, it would open up the offense immensely. Howard is always a step slow and gets tackled as soon as he is almost thru the hole.

The top 10 RBs in the league with qualifying amount of carries average 5 yards per carry or more. Imagine Trubisky completing 25 of 29 passes, the defense holding the opponent to 9 points and your RB averaging over 5 yards per carry. This game would have been a blowout.

Howard does not have the speed to threaten the outside in the running or passing game and he is not quick enough of a cutback runner to be effective. If it's 3rd and 1 I'll take Howard all day long. Outside of that he is nothing more than a hindrance to this offense. A RB like Hunt spreads the LBs and Safeties at the LOS, which helps running between the tackles. Howard brings the defense closer to the middle of the field because they dont respect his ability to beat them outside.

No it was actually the terrible play of Mitch Trubisky that caused the offense to put up a measly, lowly, 14 points.

Do you think it is worth it to burn a draft pick on a RB? I kind of do

I see Jay Ajayi signing with the Bears on a one year prove-it deal and then Pace drafting another guy late.

Howard is almost certainly going to be dealt for a pick. I think we may be disappointed with the return, but its a necessary move. Even if its a pick outside the top-one hundred they still could use more draft capital and Howard simply does not fit.
