Had our meeting yesterday with the organization. They stated their ideas and such as did I.

I was assured that The organ ain't going anywhere. It was also stated that the fans enjoy the band. The "voice of the fan" surveys that they have received, about 22,000 in fact, have stated they like the band. I was told that the band does and will not take away from the organ. It only takes away from the canned music.Take that for what it's worth.

I stated I was concerned that the Hawks were moving away from tradition, and becoming cookie cutter when, as an O6 team rich in tradition, the should be a leader, an example, and a trend setter. I gave the band their due, to be standing around, not playing and at the drop of a hat having to jump right in, well that shit ain't easy.

I will say that last night seemed to have a decent mix of canned/band music and organ.

Nice how they throw numbers out. So, lets say out of all those fans that attended the first 4 home games this season...Pre and Post since the band has been here that long...that would be 81,664 fans that have attended the games ...per the Hawks Box Score.

Date Vs Attendance

9/23 Caps 19,798

9/28 RWings 20,078

9/30 Pens 20,114

10/8 Stars 21,674

Total 81,664

22,000 fans voted for the band

26.9% of the attendance liked the band. if you go by those attendance numbers.

i know not all fans vote for the chance win the pictures...but then again, you also have the same fans doing it everygame...vote and vote often!

The Chicago way!

I got my first taste of the band last night, I couldn't believe that it was actually inside with the seats, I thought you guys meant they were playing constantly in the concourse throughout that game. It was pretty bad. Is this the same band for every game? They were horrible. Not just cause of what they were doing and where they were, but they fucking sucked at playing. It might as well have been "pip farting on a snare drum". The guitar was grating. And the over zealous antics made them look like glorified cheerleaders than actual contributing to crowd energy. They would be better off putting Ice Crew girls there to dance in their whoreish ways with the organ playing than what the band added. I didn't really see anyone excited about the band, but I wasn't looking too hard. I was happy that they were only on a couple of times. I can't believe how many seats have been removed for bars, bands, and other shit... no wonder tickets are going up.

When the band played in the second period, you could hear a collective groan from the crowd. It was subtle, but there.

I mean the dancing ****** bag in the 3rd gets the crowd amped (he did no dancing last evening) more than the band.

My idea would to have a small vehicle parked in place of the band, and have the ice crew washing it during the second period. Very sudsy like.

What people fail to realize 14000 of these are new fans. They have, nor do they give a ****, about tradition. So they give them enough back up to say, "see this is what the fans are asking for"....

You think the 8000 kids there last night give a shit about the organ? There is no age requirement to fill out the fans bother you form. These are the same ones that don't wait for the whistle, yell shoot at every chance, and would rather scream for Kane-Toews than watch the fucking game.

It should in NO WAY be a surprise to you.

As for the dancing ****** how he got a seat down near me last night is a wonder. Another band wagon **** they have grabbed a hold of. Oh boy.

On the bright side I enjoyed the HOCKEY last night.

My sister went with me to the game last night and asked me how we can thin the crowd by 2/3.

She turned to me and said "I really liked it better when there were only 8,000 people here that knew the game."

it has it's pros and cons. I took two out of towners last night, both in their 80's. They loved the atmosphere. I think it's a compromise and unfortunately us 8000 are the minority and the Hawks know this.

Yeah I missed the groan, but I agree with the crazy guy on the screen, the guy next to me was telling me how he's always on there now. He was hilariously scary awesome. Is he like the new it guy, like that douchbag who did the jig in the isle? That guy looked like a true diehard fan and didn't look like a gimmich just a pure blackhawk evil. I cheered for him.

But if it came down to it... Yeah, I like your idea better, they can even sell raffle tickets to people and use the winners cars. And I want to be inside while they are washing it.

I'm not a ticket holder anymore so they care even less about my thoughts than yours.

I don't want to get into it or mention any details, but did she tell you about the weird argument at the end of the night?

They are the only ones who see the stats, so they can tell you whatever numbers they want, and still say the fans want the band. I don't know of any hockey fan on the planet who would think that a band playing in the rink is a good idea, unless they were at a rock concert. Another piece of McBullshit IMO

I don't disagree. I told them if I wanted to see a band play, I would go to a concert. I understand if they want a band, they will have a band no matter what any shithead fan says.

Yea and that **** is lucky I wasn't there. I have a few comments for him if and when I happen to see him again. WTF? Yelling at a 60yr old woman? Lucky it wasn't my wife he was yelling at or he'd be visiting the dentist very soon.
