If you don't know why we use purple... you're a bandwagoner.... and a better person for not knowing her.

I don't get that. Why would you allow it to bother you that much? Who cares?

Because the jerkoffs Ton described are a pain in the ass...they won't wait for the whistle to stand up in front of you for example.

So, let's run with that example.

People getting up in front of you during play. Do you;

A) Ask them politely if they understand it is not respectable to other fans watching if they are moving around during play and should wait for the whistle?

or

<
Be that asshole know it all STH who thinks the world revolves around them and then berate them for being assholes and not waiting for the whistle?

If you tolerate someone crapping in your cornflakes, you get stuck eating a lot of crappy corn flakes, so I voice my displeasure for sure!

When I come to a Hawks game, travel time plus time at the UC costs me 12 hours if weather and traffic are good. Tickets are over $100 and I dump $50 on gas $20 on parking and on and on...so I don't feel apologetic about wanting to SEE the game.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI...not a sports town at all. The AHL games here are so infested by people that are not there for the game that people who play hockey here will overwhelmimngly say they cannot hardly stomach the BS of going to a game. It's up to us to fight for our culture at the games and remind people that the hockey game is the focal point of the evening, not all the other BS.

Hockey is the best sport of all professional sports played, IMO. Does that mean I watch the Blackhawks all year? No, because it's not televised. I'm sure a die hard fan would run out and buy the sports package (key word here, buy)

Jerseys, do I have one? No, too expensive. Do my kids have knock offs? yes they do. (Key word here again, is money)

So I dont go to the games, cant afford it. I dont buy the authentic jerseys. Cant afford it. I dont watch it on cable, cant afford it. Do I watch the play offs? yes, I watch it online borrowing a friends xfinity password so I can shout, cheer, and yell for the Hawks all the while my kids are wearing their Hawks jerseys and maybe we are creating new cheap fans.

I know the players, Ive been watching hockey (when I can) since Chelios and the Bruise Bros. , problem is, money gets to decide how often you get to watch them play.

So, no. I'm not drunk, or loud, or infringing on a "true" fan's good time. I'm not a bandwagon fan or a "while its popular" fan. I'm just a broke fan who gets to see them play from time to time and they are the BEST team out there.

Do what I do, I dont have cable, because I dont friggin watch TV hardly at all: http://www6.hockeystreams.com/ Its BETTER than gamecenter imo(which you cant see hawks games on anyway). and for a year of getting your hawks fix, under 10 bucks a month.

To the topic of band wagon fans, a guy I just started hanging out with past 6 months or so invited me over his place to watch game 1 that went to OT vs the wild.

At the close of 3rd period he asks me who I think will win the shoot out if it comes to that. I totally picard facepalmed. and Im like dude theres no shootout in the playoffs. Oh, I only started really watching this year. I was talking about crosby coming back from the broken jaw at that time, and he didnt know who crosby was.

You don't need to defend yourself or your fandom. Some of us don't give a shit about real vs fake jerseys or band wagoners or any of that other stuff. Watch what games you can and enjoy the game for what it is on the ice and join in on the cheering for the Hawks.

There is no ranking system for what fans are the best..no awards handed out for it either and it certainly isn't based on what you wear, how long you have been a fan or how many games you go to. Some of the smartest hockey people I know can't spend the money on games etc or are to busy with other life events to follow as much as nerds such as myself. Just because I have the chance to see a lot of games (not live of course) doesn't mean I know more about it than others. My track record of spewing bullshit proves that.

I can assure you no player is looking up in the stands during a game shaking their head at the fans with the fake jerseys on and it getting them down to the point where they don't want to play anymore. Has no effect on the team on the ice and the team on the ice is all that matters. Never understood the big deal of it all as far as hockey fandom goes. Never will.

First time is a polite statement.

After that, yelling and ridicule. Because the world does in fact revolve around me, they will be berated after the first incident.
