We can fuss about Flus as a HC i suppose, but it is very hard to argue his defense and scheme are not down right nasty. Does the stupid stuff need to be addressed? Sure. Time management? Well, that is a matter of opinion. Bears lost on a fluke. At this point I can't wait to take 2 from Green Bay.
Sadly that fluke could have been prevented. In my opinion it goes beyond just a fluke on why they lost. The offense was non existent for 3.5 quarters. That was more of a reason for losing than the fluke Hail Mary.

You guys are insane if you think Flus called a bad game. He held a high scoring offense to 12 until the last second.

The D has shown up and performed. Those 4 games he lost could have gone either way. If we simulate those scenarios out over 1,000X his strategy is the correct one.
Flus is the HC and is also responsible for how the offense played. The offense did literally nothing for 3.5 quarters. He let his OC call the most stupid play of the year, up until the Giants 2 point conversion attempt last night.

Incorrect. The stupidest play at the goalline this year was probably the option play the Bears ran that left all the lineman flat on their ass.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Everyone has to be better. The thing is, Waldron started to get going with the run game late and the Bears offense started to get a rhythm. CW was not good most of the game, but after the run game got going, he started to get a rhythm. Flus had the defense playing pretty good the majority of the game. Holding one of the highest scoring offenses to 12 pts for over 59 minutes and 58 seconds.

As we saw with Fields, it really doesn't matter what you do through the beginning of the game, it is how you finish. Waldron was still iffy, but better late. CW much better late. Flus for whatever reason, very dumb on the last defensive series. D Players, very dumb on the last play.

Now if Waldron and CW were better throughout the game, Flus doesn't get the chance to be stupid on that last drive. It's going to be interesting to see how the team responds in games from this point going forward.

Ultimately, it's up to the team and the coaches to move the narrative off this game. If they win the next 2 (which should be expected) and beat Green Bay, no one is going to be talking about the Commanders game at that point. However, if the Bears come out and drop any of the next two and show that Flus and company still can't beat a contender in the division, the Washington game is likely the turning point for his ticket out of town. Typically teams shouldn't be in "must win" situations this early in the season, but Flus has put them in this situation and I hope he knows his career is riding on their execution these next few games.

I've not been shy about my opinion that Flus should've been gone and replaced this past offseason, so I personally don't think he is up for the task. I'll still be rooting for them to win and to actually challenge for the NFC north title, but I just don't think Flus is the guy and we'll be left with more questions like this last game than with confidence we have the guy for the future of this team.

That was stupid but this one was worse.
