Two pages in and I've not seen this answer to OP's question about decreased cap hit...

A: Looks like the sites all simply lowered their predicted cap ceiling, which isn't actually released annually til later on in March but could be early Feb like last year (2/23). Not that it'll go DOWN, but perhaps not increase by as much for some reason. Most search hits showed $275m, but more recent hits this week say $265-275m for 2025. They're just being cautious this early.

Other topics REs:
  • Does Trey Smith fit the scheme of this OL? Probably doesn't matter much if the new OC fit the personnel bec so much turnover is needed😝
  • Tevon stay/go may very well depend on scheme fit (+ obviously his market value).
  • Can/should bring in an established vet C and pay what it takes. Also draft a C in mid rounds to develop. Bates should be a backup, not plan A. Gawd, how many times can this team ignore/whiff on Centers?? + WTF are they always getting hurt?

Maybe the emphasis should be on finding and retaining good players and devising schemes to fit their abilities.

This is absolute crazy talk. I think you fail to see the flaw in your logic.

This would require competent coaching. Which flies in the face of "The Bears Way."
