I really hope that you're right. He was my second choice after Kubiak, despite my reservations and misgivings about his run game consistency.
I watch all the Hawks games and they pound the ball or at least try with what they have more than most teams.
Trust me he will with the Bears roster. The run/pass balance was always pretty high with Pete.

I don't have an Opinion on this. Never really have with coordinators. There's so many mitigating factors to success outside of their respective resumes. Certainly hope it works. Otherwise, well yeah we know that song very well. I'll stay in my lane with the players.

It's literally in this thread they were one of the highest pass percentage teams in the NFL

I wouldn’t look to much into the play calls, instead look at the players. Could he have maybe called screens because of who his QB is? Protecting him from situations that bring out his weaknesses? I’m not saying this is what happened but it could be.

I am curious to see what the rest of the staff looks like. If anyone else from the list will make it on the staff in some capacity or will it be a traditional staff where he brings all of his guys along for the ride.

For this to be true Geno Smith would have to forget everything he was taught by a QB coach that "revitalized" his career in one off season.

Much more likely SEA , as an offensive staff, just got more out of Geno Smith in 2022 and Geno is who has always been, just in a more QB friendly offense.

Fact is his passer rating under Waldron is 97+ while being below 73 in his 6 previous seasons.
Agreed, people always make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Geno regressed this year. I highly doubt he was hired because of Geno Smith in a vacuum. The ability to adapt and get the most out of a flawed player I think was definitely a huge positive in his corner though. Poles and Flus even said this in their press conference, they want someone who will coach to the players strengths.
Your last comment in this post is supposedly one of his best attributes.

Yes and their RB's were healthy.

So trade down, draft MHJ and Joe Alt. Go center in the second and just line up with 6 linemen every down while running it down the other teams throat?

sounds good to me.

Also being behind in games causes the offense to throw a lot more.

Cover athlete? Fields? Is this fake news? Just kidding, I love Fields.

Fields was one of the most hyped HS/young college prospects.

People think it never happened because he isn't MVP and hasnt developed as a passer.

He was MVP of the elite 11 camp, his team beat trevor lawrences team when he was 18.

People were talking about fields in the same light as trevor during his sophomore campaign.
