An offense needs a defense to stop the opposing offense to get more touches.

Looks that way. Although the original comment from the Seahawks thread said too many passes behind the LOS. That doesn't necessarily mean they are screens. It could also be Geno just taking the safe play. Geno being the QB needs to be taken into account about Waldron and whether the offense ran the way he wanted because of QB limitations.According to this the barely run any screen passes
I think the Bears could probably get Lock for the #9 pick. Maybe some filler. You have to wonder if this opens up the door to sending Seattle the number one pick for Drew Lock.

He was banged up pretty bad for at least half of the year - Drew Lock played pretty good against Philly and SF.It was a little more than "slight." His TD percentage dropped by 1.2% while his INT% stayed almost identical. Completion percentage went from 70% to 65%. Rating dropped from 101 to 92. Considering the skill players around him, those are pretty solid drops.
Because the creativity isn't working. We don't need some fancy jet sweep on our own 3 yard line, we don't need a screen, we don't need a direct snap to K9 on third and 12.
We need to use our weapons in tried and true ways that work. Pete has said as much, and the next game Waldron was on the sideline with him instead of up in the booth. Suddenly we were throwing short slants and had a slightly improved run game.
Waldron seems to want to get too cute, and cute isn't working. Three tight end sets were working, but they weren't fancy enough, so we went back to slow developing screens and leaving edge rushers unblocked on passing downs.
He's gets too cute at weird times. We'll get a few good plays from the tight ends and the running backs, and then he forgets they exist.
I swear I read they were high in the league on screens. Apparently not in 2023.For one, they were the least productive screen team apparently
Two, your comment about SF and McVay having the highest amount of screens is also wrong. They are middle of the pack according to this:

Won't have to. Lock will be a free-agent.You have to wonder if this opens up the door to sending Seattle the number one pick for Drew Lock.
The guys they have though are making that happen. Deebo and CMC are the main two guys on screens I believe. The fact that Seattle had a low screen percentage, that was highly ineffective, and a fan says they throw too much behind the LOS, is concerning to me. But again, Smith being the QB could have a lot to do with it.I swear I read they were high in the league on screens. Apparently not in 2023.
According to that graph, Seattle was below average in % screen plays as well.
Look at SF effectiveness with screens lol. That’s crazy.
Getsy believes Right, Left, Right, Center is switching it up and catching the defense off guard.A lot of talk about Waldron running screens. Remember, screens themselves are useful plays. Not that I'm saying Waldron is good or bad, but I'm fine with screens if he uses them in appropriate ways...not 3 exact same screen plays in a row.
As long as we block their best pass rusher with Mooney or Scott the plan fail proofGetsy believes Right, Left, Right, Center is switching it up and catching the defense off guard.

That I live in your head rent free to the point that you think I'm trying to "drop knowledge" instead of just generating discussion on the board says everything about you.Last night I was sick as a dog so your usual idiocy where you make obvious statements as if you're dropping knowledge on the rest of us was far more annoying than usual. And you never answered my question who you want the Bears to get at QB to own the NFC.
