no that he might not be as good in the twilight stage of his career because 1) he’s been hit way more and 2) he relies on his mobility a lot more. That means wilson will eventually need to become a pocket passer with a solid offensive line. the cost of acquiring wilson will make that a lot harder.

Wilson is already a great passer and IMO the best deep ball thrower in the NFL. He doesn't have to run as long as he can just scramble out of danger enough to get the pass off and scrambling is something he's also very good at.

i’m not concerned at all about wilson’s ability to become a pocket passer. he has more than enough accuracy for that. i’m concerned with fielding an offensive line to protect a 36 year old+ Wilson with limited escape ability.

No, the reason they got the 3rd pick was to take Goff and his salary back.

what I don’t understand with Colin’s take however is how exactly the bears would give back 5 first rounders when you are not allowed to trade more than 3?

They can give up more than 3 1st rounders if it's during this years draft is the way it sounds to me.

I think the deal will be Johnson + 3 1sts for Wilson + 2022 3rd + 2023 2nd.

I would do that deal but would rather try to get them to take one of our big money defensive players which i do think could be an option and if not that then at least get them to take Foles.

i’m curious about how y’all feel about this. i was talking to my buddy about the Bears trading for Wilson and he pointed out hes 32 and Pace would probably over pay. i came up with the obvious response of “well yeah but look at rodgers and brady they’re 37 and 43”. i was not expecting the response of “yeah but wilson has been hit a lot more than both of them”. This bother you enough to think twice about the move?

He can play another 10 seasons. Dude obviously takes care of his body, has never missed a start

Was already pointed out the other 1sts can be added via draft day trade.

So you're worried that in 4 years we won't have a good o-line?

I think the deal will be Johnson + 3 1sts for Wilson + 2022 3rd + 2023 2nd.

Are you saying 3 1sts + 2022 3rd + 2023 2nd + Johnson for Wilson? Or 3 1sts + Johnson for Wilson and Seattle 2022 3rd + 2023 2nd. If it's the former, that's an overpay to me. But I realize I'm probably in the minority there.

An offer to me will be more like the below.

2021 - 2nd rd pick + 2021 - 3rd rd pick
2022 -1st rd pick + 2022 - 2nd rd pick
2023 - 1st rd pick

Any player thrown in the deal will knock off a draft pick of value or return a pick back to the Bears.

Hmm, not sure now. Some dude on Twitter named Sicilian guy, says his source says Wilson to sign extension to clear cap and sign oline. I mean must be credible, it’s on Twitter.
