So the Bears purchase the land, rip everything down and then say, for tax purposes, it's worth 100 million less. Then they come out and say they are going to go with the city instead and sell the AH land (at least that's what I saw in an article somewhere). If that's the case, then they are spending all that money on demolition and then selling the land at a giant loss. Doesn't add up. This is all a smokescreen IMO. I think the stadium still gets built in AH.

Plus, George wanted that property back in the 70's and wanted to relocate there but it didn't work out. Now they have the land the founder of the Bears wanted. They are moving there. It doesn't matter what Warren wants. He runs the Bears, he doesn't own it. He has to do what the McCaskeys want and get it done the best and cheapest way possible. He doesn't get to just make the decision on where the stadium goes.

I know I said something similar about Warren wanting the stadium in Chicago, and Ted Phillips wanted it in AH, but I also had the same thought as you. Ultimately, it's what the McCaskeys want, and the guys they hired are there to make it happen.

I just wonder how much Warren is influencing them.

Just binged the first few seasons of BALLERS with the Rock & funny white dude from Hot Tub Time Machine.
This all reminds me of the politics and BS they went through trying to finance a stadium to move the Raiders to LV.

Good show initially, but went downhill after they left Miami (and all its babes). Def. no hotties running around topless in Arlington Heights this time of year 😅

The Ricketts went thru far more and got it done. Best ownership in chicago?

Do McCaskey's have the same drive tho?? hmmmmmm

A football stadium in AH brings a lot of problems with it. AH residents should be glad the Bears decided to stick near the lake.

In the long run this would be a goldmine for Arlington Heights. Unfortunately most of the elected officials that are there now won't be there to see the completed project, so they are trying to get their corruption money now. Wonder why Illinois was voted worst state for corporate business?... here ya go. Corrupt fucks can't see the forest for the green.

This is why the Museum Campus idea is a non-starter. Maybe the McCormick Place property but…they aren’t getting public funding to let Soldier Field sit empty. It’s crazy how much this tactic parallels Jerrys attempt on the 78 property. The Bears will end up building in AH and the Sox will stay at GRF. It’s really just a couple of billionaires trying to further enrich themselves.

Arlington Heights must've really been given the Bears hell if they're choosing to working the city of Chicago and Cook County.
Yes, I think Arlington Hgts overplayed their hand on the tax issue. Bears are either playing hardball and they
will come to the table to what the Bears want or sell the property for a profit.
I worked in that area for a few years and it's a nice suburb, would have done wonders for their economy and
tax base with all the other businesses.

This isn’t simply about building a new stadium. It’s about the Bears owning an extensive real estate development with a stadium at its core. It’s Kroenke 2.0, even down to using a race track property as the development space. That type of real estate development isn't happening down in Chicago, where public property is involved, nor in any of the other mentioned suburban locations, where there’s not enough open land.

The difference in assessed value that’s being argued about is enough to fight over, but not enough to kill the project. In the end, it will be Arlington Heights, simply because there are no alternatives that will give the Bears what they really want…
Makes sense.

I think Warren can talk George into anything he wants.

I could totally see the McCaskeys running back to the "familiar" because modern, new and risk makes them uncomfortable. It's pretty much how they run the Bears across the board.

I don’t think Justin Fields would have This much pull with local politicians in AH. Is this the the CW affect already in motion???
