Seriously , horse racing is dead. The gambling addicts have way too many other ways to piss away their money, these days...I live in the country, I see horses every day, I will stop and watch them in the pasture, without actually placing a bet on them, who knew that could be done????
Working in the sports gambling industry, I can confirm that horse racing is still alive and well.

Cool. I'm sitting in front of a 49" ultrawide monitor with a 27" vertical monitor next to it, reading twitter, closing down CCS ads and have 200 tabs open so i can mass n3g @dabears70.

Why did you put control in quotes? They literally have no control over their own field and im not sure how anyone can say that means nothing when its the laughing stock of the NFL. Field conditions matter and their grass is constantly a shit show. It was already fucked up in the preseason.

It's a bucket list stadium for Bears fans who haven't been. Rarely do i see someone not a Bears fan talk about their excitement to visit Soldier Field.

Life is great. I'll be at Soldier Field next month, followed by a trip to Arrowhead, a real destination stadium.

I have been to AT& T stadium, and I do not view it as a destination. From an architectural standpoint, I would not mind seeing the Rams/Bolts stadium. You know the Titans are a pretty good team, they are less than 500 miles away from Chicago, maybe you should root for them. For me, I will stick with the Bears, until they move. then I will wait for a new Chicago franchise. You see, for people who understand the bears, the city is part of the deal. Your ignorance, is a weakness, you may or may not overcome. Good Luck.

So they move 40 miles away and they are not worth rooting for?

As a boomer myself, what the fuck is wrong with you other boomers to think this way?? Did I miss something?

Soldier Field is probably a bucket list place for Bears fans but it's not some sacred sports venue like MSG, Fenway, Wrigley etc
I agree with you. I've never once encountered anyone saying it was a destination stadium. I've only heard people call it old and dumpy. I've never been so don't have any 1st hand experience to say if I agree with that assessment or not. But I've definitely never ever heard anyone call it a destinati

Enjoy not being a fan of your 'favorite' franchise. You're a fake fan
I am a fan of the Chicago Bears, have been since 1965. My first game watching in person had Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus covered in mud at Wrigley field. Have no idea if the Bears won, but those two players just caught my attention. Butkus was fearless and feared , and Sayers was lightning in a bottle. Whenever he touched the ball everybody stood up, I peeked between people to see the action. Funny, they were playing on bad turf in a shitty stadium (for football) and it was still great. Butkus, was just pissed about everything, fun to watch. I became a Bears fan just when they entered a pretty dark period, I had to wait 20 years for redemption. I still remember the names, Buffone, O'Bradovich, Butkus, Ditka, the names just sounded like football. Time hop to today, I am enjoying watching this current team reform. I really have no problem with a rebuild, I just don't like half ass rebuilds. this one look like it is down to the studs...

Arrowhead is ugly, their uniforms are ugly, but Mahomes is fun to watch...So what makes Soldiers field so bad, forget about the turf, that doesn't matter, both teams play on the same turf. The turf meets NFL specifications, if you don't like that give the NFL a call, I am sure they will be interested in your viewpoint. Soldiers field is architecturally interesting & beautiful, Arrowhead is a suburban nightmare.

it's dead for sure. More so if it's the only draw.

On the flip side, Arlington could become the mecca, goto place. Schedule horse races 2 hours after a Bears game. Fans would stick around to avoid traffic, add in eateries, bars, etc. and a lot of those drunk fans will be ponying up fat bets.

Arrowhead is loud and the tailgating scene kicks ass. It's the closest equivalent of any pro stadium I've been to for the college football level of enthusiasm and that was when the Chiefs sucked.

The state of the field literally went viral a couple weeks ago because of how bad it was. People were complaining that the NFL standards were so low that they found the field to be acceptable. But sure, i'll call the NFL and complain because thats totally something normal people do.

No need to complain to the NFL, the Bears are gone soon. Might be time for you to find a new team if you're this upset they're moving on to bigger and better things.

Arlington could become the mecca goto place!

There was talk of adding a baseball stadium that would be the home to 5 or so minor league teams. Foot traffic year round. Then schedule horse racing to check out after games next door? OMFG!

WOW!

You either own a vacant lot near Soldier Field you collect game day parking on or you need to be seriously medicated.

You are the stereotypical example that I along with my fellow White Sox fans used to clown to prove that Cub fans are dumb fucks. I don't care about that sort of thing since I have lived overseas for the most part the last 13 years, but you are still the type of fan almost anyone with a working brain could ridicule and that includes your Cub fan community. You probably would pick another MLB club if your Cubbies ever left Wrigley (which will never happen) if you would pick another NFL team if it played in Chicago after the Bears move. That is definitely a mark of intelligence on your part.

It was pretty quiet the game I seen there. Jay Cutler and boys made a comeback that quickly turned a loud crowd into people leaving the stadium in the 4th quarter. Tailgating was decent, nothing better than in Chicago

Where they play matters to me because of the travel time home mostly. They are roughly 35 miles from me now. Add 45 miles to Arlington and it’s gonna make me think about whether I keep my season tickets or not. Getting there will be a breeze….coming home is gonna suck.

And how are those powerful White Sox doing? You know....the ones that were supposed to dominate the American league central. Safer for WS fans just to keep quiet about right now.

I have no idea why some people are so damn attached to such a mediocre stadium.

For real. I can understand the attachment to Old Soldier, before that metaphorical botched Botox injection of a renovation it's masquerading as right now. It's time.
