I said the exact same thing, I’m not against the trade for XYZ.

That doesn’t change that he sucks overall lol. Go find an upset Seahawks fan, I can’t find one.

Let’s just say you jump to conclusions whenever you hear something you don’t want to believe.
You've been scouring the Seahawks boards over the last 20 minutes?

You've never heard of this guy, obviously. Why can't you just come out and say that?

This is where I am. If you turn back the clock to a week ago, I bet a lot of people here would agree that this team could use more than one DE to increase the competitive level. That 6th round pick could very well have resulted in a DE.

Well, how many 6th round picks are a threat for 5+ sacks on a season? This player offers that kind of productivity in rotation, so I find it to be a prudent trade
Agreed. He has been very consistent in his role. It’s not like he’s had a breakout year and then had bum stats afterwards. In his short career he’s been guaranteed to get at least 5 sacks. That’s impressive for a rotational player.

Why would the Seahawks cut a pass rusher with production like that? Chances are the Bears could have signed him in FA.

He doesn’t fit in their new defense from what I have read. That said they wisely shopped him and took what they could get. The Bears didn’t want to risk him getting picked up by someone else.

If he gives the Bears 5 sacks it’s not a bad trade. He is very cheap and controlled for 2 years as well which is a bonus as well.

The dude isn't very good. He seems horribly inconsistent. I am wondering if the Bears are just hoping to squeeze a little consistency out of him. I don't see him as anything other than a rotational player.
Horribly inconsistent while averaging 7 sacks a season is better than some of the players competing for the same roster spot.

But yes, I'm with you on rotational spot. But a DE on rotation has a lot of opportunities to make an impact, and the team is better for having him on it.

That’s where you are wrong. He doesn’t suck. For a rotational player, he has put up solid numbers. Thats why the Bears are bringing him in.

From the little I read he sucks at run defense but can rush the passer. Wasn’t a fit for new defense.

For a 6th why not? 🤷‍♂️
So we got Yannick for a 6th. I'm good with that and maybe a new environment with some new coaching will help him.

For a 6th, I don't disagree.

Shopping him and cutting him are two different things. Are the Bears potentially shopping, Herbert, possibly. That doesn’t mean they will cut him if a trade can’t be worked out. Same type of scenario could be said about the Seahawks and Taylor.

Chances are he does considering he has at least 5 sacks in his first 3 years in the league. He’s not a Mark Anderson where he put up huge numbers and became a bum afterwards. This guy has been consistently solid.

This is a great trade

Gets a 4th de to rush passer and should get rid of Robinson (walker considered 9th dl and swing guy vs 4 dl + 4 de)

Next up is a pickup of DL of waiver wire next week

Still hope they keep Hardy as 4th de/st over martin

He is a bum. No decent cost controlled edge in their prime gets dumped for a 6th if they are good.

He fills a glaring need for this Bears team which makes it a good trade for us.

Both things are true, it’s not that hard to understand.

Coin flip: Hardy vs DomRob and that should be the end of the Yannick discussions as well.

Hardy better fucking make it over Robinson. Hardy’s motor is what you want in every player and he continually flashes whereas DomRom is horrible.
