Sounds like he had a little success early on in a 4-3 defense, then Seattle switched to a 3-4 and he became a pass rush specialist. The Seattle fans were happy to see him go.

He clearly wasn’t a starter, but I don’t know how much playing time he got:
2021: 6.5 sacks
2022: 9.5 sacks
2023: 5.5 sacks

That’s not bum stats. Shit Demarcus Walker is more of a “bum” than this guy.
Seeing that many people here wanted the Bears to sign Yannick and his poor run support for 1 year of service, it seems to be a cheaper alternative (3 million + a 6th round pick) for 2 more sacks since Taylor entered the NFL.

Yannick :
2021: 10 sacks
2022: 9.5 sacks
2023: 4 sacks

decline in production combined with coming off an injury makes the younger Taylor look like a steal in comparison

Indeed, he wouldn't have cost them anything really. I just find it convenient for people to claim he was about to get cut just to downplay the move by Poles.

The guy led them in sacks in '22 and was 3rd in '23... I'm pretty sure they had a place for him on the team for $3M.
Taylor would have been #2 in sacks in 2023, #1 in sacks in 2022 and maybe #2 in sacks in 2021?

Jacob Martin has the same exact problems when you read what fans of his other teams have said. All pass rush and a complete liability against the run. And he can't stay healthy

I remember the bitching because the Bears got Sweat for a 2nd and the 9ers got Chase Young for a 3rd. Pretty sure OP was one of them

We know who the better player turned out to be

i wouldnt call him a bum. hes already the 2nd best pass rusher on the bears now

21.5 sacks in 49 games is apparently "bum" quality
No chance he’s ever seen him play and is shooting from the hip. I saw Taylor mentioned over the last few days as a trade possibility. His athleticism and length certainly fit what Flus covets. He doesn’t profile as a “bum.” That’s just ignorance.

By his own admission Hyatt is a troll. His opinion on anything Bears related (or in general) is worthless.
