No chance he’s ever seen him play and is shooting from the hip. I saw Taylor mentioned over the last few days as a trade possibility. His athleticism and length certainly fit what Flus covets. He doesn’t profile as a “bum”. That’s just ignorance.
Im sure playing opposite of sweat will make him complimentary enough which is what they’re looking for

The guy has 21.5 more sacks than the Bears #3-4-5 de combined

All for a 6th round pick

Can't wait for everyone head to explode when the Bears claim a dt next week off waivers (of even trade a 7th for one in the next 4 days)

I can see them swinging a big trade for one as trade deadline approaches especially if gervon is meh

Sure...but they don't really have a 4th dt right now

Expect that he's not on the team currently

Put this man back in a 4-3 and let him eat.

Assuming this wasn't the Steelers conditional or Dolphins 6th round picks we own, then awesome deal (Bears will be better than both, don't @ me).

Even if it's not, still awesome deal because lmao it's just a 6th.

Would be nice if the defense guru hc can develop someone
Well, how do you frame that? In my imagination, a HC developing someone is someone drafted onto this team during his tenure. And to be successful, the player is one who we resign or that can go sign elsewhere and help generate comp picks.

To that end, I think that the DBs are being developed nicely, and the DL is steadily improving. Though I am one of the ones optimistic about Dexter, you may be on the other side of that one.

I mean I get the comment, but he’s developed the secondary quite well. Let’s hope he can start making headway on the line.

i wouldnt call him a bum. hes already the 2nd best pass rusher on the bears now

21.5 sacks in 49 games is apparently "bum" quality
Mmm. I can get into why Booker is already the 2nd best pass rusher on the team. Dude is legit, and far more skilled than he is currently getting credit for.

Before injury, Wanya Morris was projected to be the Chiefs starting LT.

Look at how Booker attacks Wanya’s left shoulder and right arm, in this bullrush at 2:10

He used the same technique to blow up Dion Dawkins on the bullrush, in the Bills game.

You can’t see it clearly, but you can see Morris’ right arm get lifted, as he gets put on his heels.

That is as advanced a hand fighting technique for an End on a bullrush, as it gets. Done right, it completely nullifies a tackle’s length advantage, and leaves him with only one hand to try and establish his block.

And Booker has others. Dude has a full arsenal of pass rushing moves. Even his spin, is fundamentally perfect, from a technique and footwork perspective. And it’s smooth.

I’ve been watching closeups of his snaps very closely in these preseason games. The skills, explosiveness, and motor, jump off the screen.

He’s legit. Not “raw” or “rough” in the slightest.

decline in production combined with coming off an injury makes the younger Taylor look like a steal in comparison
He was the 5th DE drafted in the 2020 draft after:

Round 1--pick #2 - Chase Young
Round 1--pick #20 - K'Lavon Chaisson
Round 2--pick #38 - Yetur Gross Matos
Round 2--pick #47 - Marlon Davidson
Round 2--pick #48 - Darrell Taylor

I'm excited to see the welcome he gets when he walks into Halas Hall on Hard Knocks next Tuesday. If it makes next weeks show.

I approve of this trade. DT seems good for at least a handful of sacks per season. It's a low risk, but potentially high reward trade. I mean, really who is calling this guy a bum??? 21.5 sacks in 3 years or so. Let Chef Poles cook.
