This is what I’m fucking talking about.

It’s fair to ask scheme-related questions about this move, but this is the serious no-nonsense ****-the-bargain-basement move they’ve needed to make (and should continue to make) on the O-Line.

So, 33M spent the past two days on guards, is that math right? And the NFL cap went up 23M, right? Bears had about 80M in cap before the increase?

So, they spent about 13% of the available money this year on two starters to protect #18?

Seems like a good deal. Who gives a F about 4th and 6th round picks.

No it isn’t. This is going backwards and a desperate move by a shitty gm that neglected the oline for 3 years
Both can be true 🤷‍♂️

This is clearly a desperation move that is meant to be a course-correction for years of bargain basement shopping for linemen. But it also gives the Bears something they desperately need.

I read it was more like 69M after the draft class was included

I would laugh if you grabbed a shotgun and blew your face off right now 😂
The Thuney thing 'kind of' reminds me of when Pace got Josh Sitton from the Packers. He had been good with the Packers and it was surprising that GB let him leave. He had back problems but Pace still got two pretty good seasons out of Sitton. Even if the Bears only get a couple of seasons out of Thuney, I still think its worth it at this point.

The draft class is going to only cost probably $5-6m or so against the cap. Really only the first three picks will count, after that they are close to bottom and just bump a guy off the 51, adding a couple hundred thousand if that.

Maybe. I don’t know. Seen several people that should know say it was effectively 69 mil before the trades.

We will see but trading

2 for claypool
5 for bates
4 for Allen

Have all been bad moves. And ignoring the 7 for that Kenny powers looking bum he traded for. Just saying this gm blows. Blowing draft picks on one year rentals that are meh isn’t working
