We will see but trading

2 for claypool
5 for bates
4 for Allen

Have all been bad moves. And ignoring the 7 for that Kenny powers looking bum he traded for. Just saying this gm blows. Blowing draft picks on one year rentals that are meh isn’t working

Jackson has two years on his deal. Thuney probably gets extended.

My opinion of the trades goes much lower if they are indeed one year rentals.

Also not banking on it, but the Bears do have Ricky Stromberg who might fit the mold of this OL better than he did in Washington.
This is exactly what I was thinking. He’s been unlucky with injuries, but Stromberg can be a very good player if he can stay healthy.

Maybe. I don’t know. Seen several people that should know say it was effectively 69 mil before the trades.
You can just look at the cap hit of players drafted around the same slot last year. Odunze was $4m, so effectively $3.2 because he knocks someone off the top 51. That's about what #10 this year will be. The R2 guys will be around $1m apiece.

Why would we trade for Thuney when 10 million dollar impact players are there for us? wtf. Amirite, @remydat?? LMAO
There are 32 teams in the NFL sure. Bears arent going to get all the impact players.

Sorry I hurt your feelings on the internet.

I can't see any way Thuney doesn't get extended right away. This guy has at least 3-4 great years left in him. Then we can move the money around to make the hit a little better next year if they want to.

J.Jackson needs to play and show he can play well and stay healthy.

I am for this trade. Low cost, improves protection for our young gun, and frees up current resources to draft BPA instead of focusing on OL. Savvy moves and it helps improve the competitive window for this team while Caleb Williams is cheap.

The Bears are getting more and more interesting, my friends!
Also any young o-line guys that we draft, can learn from a pro bowler. That’s valuable.

Oh, so now you acknowledge there are a lot of people competing for the impact players?! We’ve come full circle! You’re now using my own argument against me! LMAO.

Planning on any more film review for the next updated mock?

I’d also be happy with Hampton later in the 1st. @remydat whats your thoughts on your UNC player?
Already had him in one of my mocks at 39. I like him in the 2nd more than Jeanty in the first. Doubt he lasts until then but would be happy if we trade down a bit and get him.

As for skill set. Doesnt make people miss but can do it all. Good size, speed, pass catching, blocking and runs through arm tackles.

I never not acknowledged it. I said Poles still had to find them and he did so via trade.

He played LT very well up until the Super Bowl. It was only like 4 maybe 5 games but he did play there well.
No he didnt. He was the best G in the NFL and a mediocre LT worse than Jones actually.

I like the experience with these two coming in. If they can stay healthy it gives the Bears a couple of years to draft younger guys. The draft will be very interesting now which way they go.

Spotrac has Bears at 45.3M effective space post Thuney trade:

That sounds right because right now Jackson and Thuney count about $33m, plus what you have for rookies (about $5m), that makes roughly $83m which is about what it was before the trades.
