Let’s be real if they don’t land Wilson/Watson they are going to try to move up and grab a young QB. No chance we pay someone like Mariota with Foles here and his contract.

They know it’s got to be a “big” move to save their jobs. Young QBs give hope especially if they show signs their rookie year. You have to compete now while promoting the future. It’s politics.

If the Bears did make this move they better hope they get pre injury Mariota, the guy who was making progress in his first two years.

The only thing that can save their jobs is putting a competent productive offensive team on the field that wins a playoff game

I can't see that happening.

Pace/Nagy are fighting for their jobs. They can't be stupid enough to think mariota makes a difference.

The reason I'm fine with Mariota is it's not spending a lot of money or draft capital on a middle pf the pack guy. Either go big or go cheap. The truly Bears move would be to go big for not good.

Agreed, but don't let some CCS tyrants like @modo or @truthbedamned hear this thinking.

They will ridicule and go on pages of bullshit sidestepping the very logic you employ here. ONLY one way of thinking around here for some. NO to cheap flyers on turning guys around EVER.

Don't you know that EVEN Mitch is better than the cheap guys? Don't bother with change of scenery argument.

@modo will ADMIT that is possible and then deny even a smidge of leeway or credibility for anyone who thinks that would be better than emptying the draft cupboard for a True QB to suffer under Nagy.

They aren't going to get fired in the off-season.

If they really want to keep their jobs they just need to win eleven games. They did it once two years ago with Mitchell Trubisky and I'm sure they feel like they can do it again with even a modest upgrade at the position.

I'm not sure mariota is an upgrade from mitch/foles. He actually is probably a downgrade if you don't upgrade the oline.

I'm expecting desperation moves at the position from pace/nagy.

Also, this team doesn't have the talent to win 11 games

I mean, you could see it, and it would be hilarious if it ended up that way. Marcus Mariota is not any better than the guys they had last year.
Exactly. Not sure he could even beat out Foles at this rate. If they do sign him, then I think it is indeed a myth that Nagy and Pace only have one prove it year left.

I think I have responded to you maybe 3 times in 4 years. Tyrannt?

LOL...Okay. Works for me. And yes...Mitch is better than all the losers you have mentioned with the exception of Watson and Wilson. So take that dammit.

I agree. It certainly doesn't have the talent to win eleven games. Not now. But hey, they make the right moves in free agency here (mostly involves not paying Robinson II $18,000,000 and instead investing that money at more impact positions) and have another draft like 2020 its not out of the question. The division is weak.

Underwhelming.

Pace & Nagy would earn their exit.

If the options are between Foles and Mariota? Mariota makes a difference.

You can’t roll into the draft with just Foles, what happens if the trade up doesn’t happen?
