Doesn't True Shooting % factor in free throws?
lol.

I know Gordon's an above avg. FT shooter...he's around 84% for his career. Still doesn't excuse him from jacking up bad shots on a gimp leg in the boston series. I don't think his injury should excuse those shots, either. That's stupid. If ya can't shoot, quit shooting.

Free throws help JJ more than BG. As long as you are respectable, free throw volume helps more.

You didn't?

Typically saying "Why should I take any stock into this? I could've written it... for all I know, you did" sounds like discounting it to me. I don't think I am spinning it but I could just be opinionated.

Dude...99% of articles are completely based on opinion. Be it you or me or Doug or any of the goons @ espn. You can't use an opinion-based article to back up facts....they're a dime a dozen. Doug's got a hell of a reputation here already -- I'm not saying it's a poor article. I'm just saying I can find some from people just as reputable or more reputable that go against his point. Essentially, his article and an article against his point is just debate -- similar to what we're doing here, only on a grander scale.

And the backpedaling and spin begins. I can respect that you have a differing opinion. There are plenty of people who don't like BG for valid reason but your pulling things out of your ass and that bothers me. You constantly spew the same propganda that was true 5 years ago but the guy clearly worked on his weaknesses and improved.

what the hell did I spin?

You said his numbers were better than Joe Johnson's. I gave you the stats to prove you wrong. You all say that I pulled out "one or two games" of an entire season where BG got blown up...and I should be able to find more. Hell, Michael Redd scored 30 on the Bulls in the first game of the season! And we start discussing the point of articles, and you say i'm backpedaling and spinning?

damn, son.

damn, son.

Where did I say that? Please provide the quote where I said BG has better numbers than JJ.

I say your backpedaling and spinning because you said you could write a published article. I asked you too and then you said why would I. Then you start changing the theme and talking how much you respect him. Thats back pedaling.

How is BG responsible for Redd blowing up? He didn't start, he wasn't even the first sg off the bench. IF you really want to prove your point, there is a good sample size of 30 games where Kirk Hinrich didn't even play and BG was playing 35+mpg at sg.

My apologies for this -- it was another clown.

Dude, you know everyone can write articles on the internet, right?

Nov 19, Brandon Roy played less time and had better numbers all the way around than BG.

Dec 2, Iguodala put up 25, 9, 5

Those are just two random games in that stretch hinrich was out.

I'll tell you what I'll do...and tell you prior to doing it I have no idea what the results will be. Maybe it will put this to rest.
When I get some time, I'll go through every game that Gordon started in 2008-09, and compare the numbers of the opposing SG against his season averages.
Fair enough?

Thats fine. I think you will find out that BG really didn't get killed often. Out of the 89 games he played, I think there were about 5-6 times he got lit up. Mostly by Wade, who lights everyone up. But Iggy is an sf and not a sg and I wouldn't call Brandon Roy putting up 20, 5 and 2 getting lit up considering he averaged 22, 5 and 5. I'd call that an average game for him. But if your going to knock him for getting lit up the second game by Iggy, you should give him credit for shutting him down the game before.

Iggy was shut down the came before. And I'm not going to make excuses for him. Gordon apparently played good defense that night.

I'll get some time soon and I'll sit down and compare the SGs
