He has never sealed the deal
You are correct that he has never won a Super Bowl in his relatively short tenure with the 49ers. What he has shown is that he can take QBs like Kaep and Alex Smith and build a legitimate NFL offense. I sure hope there is someone in Halas Hall pounding their fist for the opportunity to bring him in.

Correct. Bears should pass on coaches like Shanahan and Harbaugh who have a history of a lot of success (but no super bowl) to keep Eberflus
Im not saying pass on him...Im saying I wonder how much control he wants for a coach that never won a championship...

My favorite teams
  1. Milwaukee Brewers
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
Supposedly Kevin Warren's mentor was Dick Vermil and he likes his building of continuity like he supposedly did with the rams..

Dick Vermeil had winning seasons as an NFL head coach under his belt before joining St Louis. But sure, the Eberflus Pokémon will evolve into Dick Vermeil year 3 because Kevin Warren said so.

In some ways, it may not be a bad thing. No coach has ever won a Super Bowl with 2 different teams
I guess that is one way of looking at it...

But he hasn't won anything, but may want almost total control....

Retaining Eberflus and drafting a QB at #1 is approaching the definition of insanity for this franchise. I hope they surprise us all.

Unless that QB hits. Things can turn around really fast if you have a QB.

I like Fields. I think they can win with him, I'm just not convinced they can win it all with him.

Just wait and see what happens with the current situation.

If it doesn't work out in a couple of years, they can hire Harbaugh and draft the top quarterback then.

This was a playoff team without those tough losses. No reason to make any changes to a playoff team. I'm scared it might not work out if there's any change.

Although the players love Flus, I wouldn't doubt that there would be some that would excited to have Harbaugh.

Williams has a lot of the same issues as fields....keeping fluss and drafting a QB with similar weaknesses is def a recipe for success

Harbaugh / Roman / Fields or draft pick
A DC that doesn't know what a Cover-2 is.

The complete control thing is something people tell themselves to cope when he isn't hired. He interviewed with Minnesota who had a brand new gm in charge of things that wasn't a hand picked Harbaugh guy and he wanted that job.

You dont let a guy do 9 hours of exit interviews just to fire him afterwards.

You're scared to not be in mediocrity? You love the 8-9 seasons?

If one of these QB'S ends up as a generational talent and Poles passes, that's a recipe for termination

If Harbaugh wins tonight the frenzy to hire him will be crazy
