To some extent. But you are comparing apples to oranges.

Either way I'm out on this stupid debate. Both won Cups and that's all this STH gives a ****.

Continue on debating a moot point. Have fun.

I agree Frolik was overpaid at 2.3mil for a 4th liner...which I was happy he had the playoffs he did/were able to move him

I think something Stan does well are the contract structures. I think Frolik may be a cap hit of 2.33mil...but will only make 1.9mil. I think owners like that....

That's fine but you wouldn't have seen a Cup in 2010 without the fucking contract. And the Hawks were NOT the highest bidder. What part of that don't you understand?

Of course we needed him in 2010 for the Cup. But that's not what I was talking about....I was responding to Ton's post if Tallon could have survived the 2010 purge following the Cup (like the way Stan did). I was agreeing with him by saying "No, Tallon couldn't".

No need to get worked up...we'll all on the same team here.

Overpaid for a 4th liner, but for his skill set I think it's the right price (maybe even slightly underpaid). There's just not enough room in Chicago for him to see time on the top 3 lines. When Stan signed the contract, I'm sure he had a larger role in mind for Frolik.

Frolik underpaid??

He was given plenty of chances to contribute more offensively

136gms - 11g - 23a- 34pts - +5 (with 10 of those goals probably empty netters, lol)

He's found his role as a 4th liner/PK guy that can play about 10-12min a game. Nothing wrong with that at all....but he's definitely not a 2mil+ dollar player

Good for him (and his agent) if he sees a contract like this again from the NHL

I'll would still take Oduya (two years younger and half the cost of BC) and Olesz (who is now off the books) over Campbell, who would still be on the books for 7+ million until 2015-2016.

Campbell is one of the best if not the best puck moving Dman in the league. He is worth every penny of his contract. I would take soupy over Oduya and Olesz any day of the week.

Anyone remember Soupy's first point as a Blackhawk? I do, never seen anything like it. Passes the puck off the goal post to Kane who hammers it home. He posted it on purpose.

Oduya is a very good puck mover as well. Probably just as good.

Campbell's biggest asset is his skating

You can have him at 7.1mil...I'd take a bit more fiscal responsible decisions.

You are misunderstanding what I said. On Chicago, he is overpaid because he's a 4th line PKer, 10-12 min a night. Elsewhere, who knows... maybe that contract becomes a steal. He had two 20 goal seasons in a row before coming to the Blackhawks. He can PK, aggressive on the forecheck, versatile/can fit anywhere in the lineup in a pinch, and I'm sure he'll have no problem fitting in on the top three lines in Winnipeg. If he can find his finishing ability and net 12-15 goals while PKing for them, the contract is well worth it.

The potential is there for him to produce, but he obviously couldn't find it in Chicago for whatever reason. Luckily for him, he rounded out his game enough to stick in the NHL, even though he wasn't producing, he can still be effective in other areas of the game. It's a good addition for the Jets, low risk ($$), more reward (offensive production).

Like I said, when Stan gave him that contract, he was probably thinking along the same lines... but for whatever reason Frolik just couldn't find any finishing ability (until the playoffs) during his tenure here.

I wish the guy well...and will eat crow/shit a brick if he ever score 20g again (in one season...not over the next 5)

I'm not sure he'll play with better talent than he had here

I still question those stats in FLA, if they were accurate

I didn't say he'll score 20 goals again... but, if the Jets get 12 goals out of him (hell even 10 goals) on the third line, 30 pts or somewhere around there, and he can PK... then I would consider that a good contract. Anything more is gravy.

The funny thing with Frolik is he kind of picks up his game in the playoffs. In his two previous playoff appearances for the Hawks before this year he had 4 goals and 4 assists in 11 playoff games. Not too shabby. 3 goals and 7 assists in 23 playoff games this season. Those are huge numbers for a 4th line guy in the playoffs. Pretty strange guy when you look at his reg season stats with the Hawks to his playoff stats.

Really strange player in my opinion.

Brown, barnaby doud, but that was Pulfords last year of influence IMO. He was removed from decisions shortly after.

They still question whether he deserved credit for many of the goals in Florida. And if they were his, if some puffery and smoke and mirrors were involved, thus not an accurate reflection of his actual abilitites.

20 goals, 10 goals, either way I don't like trading to division teams.
