Agreed 100%.

I'm not a Cup-or-bust every year guy, but I need there to be a reason for optimism at the end of each season if they don't reach the Cup.

Two years ago was kind of rough, given the Capocalypse and how many new faces were going to be counted on. I was expecting more out of this season. Like you said, I can't really live with a first round exit this year. Thought there was more talent on this team than that.

Not ready to demand for firings yet, but another first-round exit or even a slow start to the season could change that.

1-3 start = AXE TIME

:nervous:

Q should be on the hot seat. His fairy tale of winning the Cup in 2010 is about over.

Well, either Q or, as you call him, StanBlow is going to lead this team. Who do you prefer?

I have more of a beef with Stan Blow as I think he's a clueless hack when it comes to talent evaluation.

But, Q's seat is getting warmer.

Why does his talent evaluation matter to you? Do the Hawks not have a scouting staff?

Just curious as to why both can't get canned?

I'm moreso opposed to firing both because that's starting the hockey operations from scratch. I don't think that's necessary. Both have some failures to be accountable for, but at this point, I think I'd rather see Q gone before Stan.

I think Q would rather be gone too.

He wasn't a fan of Barry Smith being forced upon him late this season and now Bergevin is out of the office.

There's been more than a few things that hint at a split between management and Q and I'm inclined to side with Q before the creepy Bowman/McD alliance. We can all shit on Q saying that 2010 is 2 years removed now but he's done a hell of a lot more in this organization than either Bowman or McD have and everyone knows he wouldn't even have to pick up a phone to find a new job if he were let go.

Considering some of the asinine decisions Q's made this season, I think you may be right. I agree he's certainly done more, but creepy be damned, if Q is going to sabotage the organization because he wants out, then there's no use dicking around and give him what he wants. I have less respect and patience for a saboteur than an idiot who at least tries to do the right thing.

Yeah, probably too harsh and drastic. I think the point may remain, though.

I would prefer bowman long gone before Q. 2 years removed really isnt a longtime. bowman needs to stop trying to obtain 1 dimensional type players. if they want grinders or tough guys go out and get one or two if available that have skill.

also if the hawks start off slow, and bowman has a shitty offseason, if they fire q i will be pissed. supply.the.talent. for fucks sake you have your dad right there.

Dale rebuilt Florida in 1 summer. 72 points in 2011 to 94 points in 2012.

Think he couldn't cobble together a few pieces to play around the core of the Hawks?

Jesus.

Carcillo? Mayers? Montador? These guys were the guys who brought some toughness and skill. One has a scrambled brain, one has very little brainpower, and the other ran out of gas.

Bruno, Morrison were big time whiffs and the deadline acquisitions were a quick flash in the pan before they went to hell. The depth D didn't turn out well...but they generally were what was expected - vet depth bottom pairing type guys.
