I was half right. He never signed an offer sheet. This was a contract offer.

Therefore he can still be traded.

Call up Dale & ask him to send some Gatorade for this garbage ass excuse for a hockey player.

I dont see the hate. He signed at a good price and its a high reward low risk. If he does well he plays, if he sucks he sits, not that hard. I hope Stalberg gets a shot in the top 6 but i'm fine with him in the bottom 6 to as towards the end of the year he elevated his game to be a bit more physical. I'd like to see a bit more net presence from him this year.

A cheap, short contract for a guy that has some speed and some size and the potential to produce in shoot outs (if Q would ever stop sending Sharp).

Nothing to get pissed off about.

It's not like I'm thrilled about it, but at this price it's not an awful signing. He's put up 20 goal seasons in the past, and he has some size and plenty of speed. If he can get back to lighting the lamp 20 times them we stole him. If not, we didn't risk much dough a d he can be a healthy scratch, injury replacement, play in Rockford or Europe, or just plain get cut. Not a disaster either way.

The beauty is that we have a full roster and 6 bills left to pick up an RFA or for a trade deadline deal.

 he is not a top 6 guy. you talk about how young he is (25) (26) in JAN, but at what age do you give up on him? 40? im curious on where you guys see how he can be a factor, when he has done nothing his whole career.

Sure the price is cheap, still a waste of money.

 there is a difference between the NHL and the university of vermont. He has never sniffed 20 goals in one season in the nhl.

in 117 games in the nhl he has 21 goals.

Well, the thought goes- if every loud mouth fan who complained about front office moves actually knew what they were talking about, they would be the ones in the front office.

but with that said, teams in every sport make mistakes ALL the time with who they trade, who they sign ETC.

So basically we cant be negative about a FO because we arent the experts? really?

Being a fan entitles you to an opinion IMO. If you invest time and money into a team you support, you have the right to express your thoughts about them no matter what.

Well it is rather pointless to get overly upset about a guy whose only real position on the team is 3rd line winger ... where there currently is a glut - and is signed for next to nothing.

Big deal.... and I don't care if the water boy is overpaid either. :D

The last time he scored 20 goals was in college at Vermont.

:rolling:3rd line? He barely qualifies as a 4th liner.

Maybe.... but then again every now and then you run into "fans" that have a debate in the stands, as to what the puck is made out of --- the group think decides that it is made out of wood- must be to not bounce like it does -- never mind that the things are sold in the concourse and you can hold one of them...

having an opinion, common sense, and and education are not always mutually supportive concepts...

all of which means, I get to have a latte for breakfast -as I am an elitist :rimshot: . :D

Underlying theme- it is amazing how milk can get villified. ;)

Joe.. feel free to lace up the skates and get out there any time you like - I bet he could make you look like a pretzel and be playing right handed..

until that time, feel free to be put into context. Again.
