If Sharp is indeed moved prior to this season, I wonder if Stan waits until after the convention. It sure would be an unpopular move with possible backlash? Whatcha think?

if sharp is the salary dump than our offseason went backwards and we got worse. that is just fact. no one can dispute that, not even those who say "we got TT" ya know an unproven player. it would be horrible if sharp is moved.

Hawks are 2.2 mil over the cap.

Interested in seeing who gets moved.

I don't think Sharp needs to get moved this year, next year most likely but can still have one more run at the Cup with him. Would be best to move Versteeg but easier said than done

Sure, I'll be that guy.

If you can get Brad Richards to chip in about 60 points from the 2C role and factor in the improvement of the 3rd/4th lines without Zus and Bollig slowing them down, you can make up for Sharp's absence enough for the Hawks to contend again.

I shall concede that those are BIG ifs, especially on Richards. But losing Sharp does not immediately discount the Hawks from contention. Toews, Kane, Saad, and Hossa can still carry the top 6 enough to match up with any other top 6 in the league. It's whether or not those 3rd or 4th lines match up with teams like LA that will decide if the Hawks can reach the Cup in 2015.

Agreed that Sharp doesn't have to go this year. But there's also the consideration that his value may not be higher again than it is right now, after he led the team in goals in the regular season.

Q isn't much into playing kids and he showed in the playoffs by self destructing the 4th line that his has no limitations on sitting young players. So you move Sharp for cap relief which means you're getting picks or kids that aren't ready for primetime and now all you have is kids below the top 6-8 forwards. Now in Q's eyes they are really thin and you always wonder about when injuries will come calling....and they always seem to hit in the worst possible place. I wouldn't mind them moving Sharp and playing some of their young talent but they better be damn sure they're on the same page with their coach.

They ban Collins for no real reason yet they parade around the Ice Crew and Bobby Hull ' s belligerence. It's the hypocrisy that's most annoying.

I miss Susanah Collins.... nothing but a sausage party on Blackhawks coverage now lol

Thought she was actually good at her job, too. Somehow managed to navigate those always-awkward Shoot the Puck interviews rather well, I thought.

I don't know what other options Q has this year, really. He has to play guys like Morin and Nordstrom because the rost of the roster has been traded away. No Bollig. No Zus.

So be it. Hawks have a damn good chance to win this upcoming season. We need to go for it.

Signing Brad Richards very much means that they're going to go for it.

My earlier point was simply that they could probably "go for it" with or without Sharp.
