Okay I want Dempster to be traded now. I think this is the perfect moment for us fans to say goodbye to what has been the best reclamation project Hendry ever tried. I know it doesn't work that way in the real world, but it just feels like the time for Dempster to go play for a team with a shot at winning.

Trading him now would also maximize the return-on-rental, as it were. The new team gets more Demp production and the Cubs can therefore theoretically get more back.

I trust Theo to pull the trigger at the right time. I am merely stating how today would be a perfect final memory for a guy that has been pretty damn good in a Cub uniform for a while.

I think they should trade him after the ASG. That way Dempster can represent the Cubs one last time before he goes. I'm sure he has a couple more quality starts left in him.

Completely disagree. I like Demp, a lot...but his value is at its peak right now.

If anyone had questions about Demp in AL that should be taken care of now. His stock actually going higher. Who thought that possible?
I was in that category of thinking he'd get exposed against the AL. It's a small sample size but he definitely did the most with it. I'm sorta hoping that was his last start for the Cubs as well.
